Berbera has served the world for more than 2,100 years according to ancient Greece, and is more important today than ever before. As we arrived here this morning, I couldn't help but think how fortunate we are to possess one of the most strategic ports in the world.
So I visited an Austro-Hungarian castle in Italy showing a map of the Horn of Africa from centuries ago. And of course Somalia did not include Somaliland then, just as it doesn’t include it now.
Thank You, Israel, for Being a True Friend!
During his visit to Israel, the President of the Republic of Somaliland visited the Save a Child’s Heart center in Holon, where nine Somaliland children are currently receiving life-saving heart surgeries.
@RAbdiAnalyst#Somalia has ever since 1991 been courting disaster after disaster. Under HSM that risk has now become policy. The only remedy is for his country to recognise #Somaliland & become the 2nd state to do so after Israel, then turn its attention to its own pressing internal affairs.
Israel is deepening ties with Somaliland, hosting its leader as both sides say relations are shifting from symbolism to strategic cooperation, amid Israel’s push to expand its influence in the Red Sea region.

President’s state visit was not only about diplomacy, it was about saving lives. Israel has provided free heart treatment to 49 Somaliland children, with more receiving care. Nine children are waiting for life-saving surgery, let’s keep them in our prayers.
A strong Somaliland–Israel partnership will bring lasting benefits in health, water, agriculture, education, trade and national security.
It is a matter of when, not if, other countries recognise #Somaliland for what it is: a sovereign nation. The sooner #Somalia is one of these, the better for all.
News: #Somaliland president says several countries considering recognition, declines to name them as #IGAD voices concern
President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, says several countries are considering recognizing the self-declared republic following #Israel's recognition, but declined to identify them, saying announcements could come "soon."
He also said Somaliland maintains diplomatic channels with the #United_States, #Ethiopia, #Kenya, and the #UAE.
The remarks came as the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) expressed concern over reports of Somaliland opening an embassy in #Jerusalem, warning against actions it said could undermine Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Reading, or pretending to read, had literally saved my life in May 1988. Had always been drawn to books, but ever since that incident the pull became permanent. So read, read, read….. would second the below 👇
Second batch of water engineers arrived in Israel.
The arrival of the second batch of water engineers in Israel marks a continued deepening of technical cooperation that is expected to significantly enhance knowledge transfer, strengthen institutional capacity in water management, and contribute to long-term improvements in water security and resilience.
"الشعب الصومالي يدين مؤامرات التقسيم الإسرائيلية".. وزير الدولة الصومالي السابق للشؤون الخارجية حامد ماشيي، يقول في مقابلة مع الجزيرة إن زيارة مسؤولي ما يسمى "أرض الصومال" وإقامة علاقات مع إسرائيل تعد انتهاكا صارخا للقانون الدولي والسيادة الوطنية

It is important to look beyond the flood of information to understand what is important, and what we should be paying attention to. We may feel we cannot afford the luxury of joining the global debate, but history gives no concessions. If the future of humanity is decided in your absence, you will not be exempt from the consequences.
#Somaliland is one of the most resilient nations on Earth.
Among all 194 countries, the UN, the African Union, the Arab League, the EU, the World Bank, and almost every major international institution, as well as many African dictators and parts of the Arab world, have opposed Somaliland’s existence. For the past 35 years, they have tried every tactic possible, spending hundreds of millions, if not billions, to discredit Somaliland's existence, and force it back into Somalia. We have faced some of the greatest challenges any country could possibly face. Yet despite all of this, we have overcome them and demonstrated our strength by building a peaceful, democratic and beautiful nation without external support, loans from the world bank or IMF. We never buckled for a moment.
