auto translation is truly useless because i end up having to try to guess what the fuck is being translated in the first place JUST GIVE ME THE ORIGINAL TITLEEEEEEEEEE
@_khazel there's not really a way to find out since tags are like that so i wish i had a better answer for you but fans who like certain dynamics will obviously stay in their own bubble so i don't think anyone could answer definitively... but some ships are obviously more popular one way.
@_khazel most of the sites we use for reading fanfiction don't determine the order of top and bottom even with the "a/b" tags and it's truly a gacha… sometimes you can get all the way into a (fan)fic and realize it's the opposite.
there's a lot of arguments about it online so be careful~
@_khazel i think most english speakers who have fixed shippings find refuge in jp/zh/kr media because it's not very organized at all in english fandoms 😭
every year we have the same debate against ship names being top/bottom vs just sounding good and most of us are tired of it i think →
@_khazel to add to this, there's also a phenomenon where people who study english tend to use words in dialogue that people don't use regularly because it's a "textbook" word.
like we know the meaning, but it would be like using very difficult kanji in everyday dialogue after learning it.
