Black Ops 1 Sniping on the PS4/5 port is broken, it's the same as it was on launch in November of 2010.
The sway and inconsistency of shots were fixed on December 16, 2010 (patch 1.04 if I'm not mistaken) because it wasn't 'just a nerf to quickscoping' as Treyarch intended, but it broke the entire class of snipers.

New Collateral Testing after the BO7 Season 1 Update
tldr; Shadow SK seems weaker, VSR is extremely inconsistent, and the XR3 ION still perfectly fine, if all 3 bullets hit. FMJ is inconsistent on snipers, so don't worry about switching your VSR to it. Your best bet is to still hit a headshot for triples and more to connect. There were no changes to snipers in the patch notes.
My goal was to test collateral potential without using things like a heavy damage barrel, FMJ, or hitting headshots (considering headshots help a ton with hitting triples and above) to see what it is at a base level
I tested all 3 snipers mostly with no attachments, or only with the FMJ fire mod (as the S1 update changed FMJ/Penetration, patch note linked below). I also used the VSR with my gunfighter build that uses the light bolt and short barrel. I assume that if using a sniper with no attachments can register the collaterals, then it should with attachments. I also assumed that 99% of you watching this (and care about collaterals lol) would not be using a damage barrel or FMJ in place of a short barrel or light bolt, and would assume that using both damage barrel and FMJ would help, but again, focused on using a build that most of you will be using anyway.
