日本ではあまり報道されていませんが現在インドネシアの民主主義が危機に瀕しています。

我々には関係ないと思うかもしれませんが、普段接しているインドネシアのみんなが元気でいられるのは安全に暮らせる環境があってのことです。少しでも関心を持ってもらえるように簡単にまとめてみますが、問題は山ほどあるのでぜひ自分でも調べてみてください。

現在の大統領のプラボウォは、1998年まで軍主導の独裁体制を敷いていたスハルトと家族としても政治的にも繋がりを持ち、スハルト政権下では陸軍に所属しながら人権侵害を犯していたという疑惑もあります。

生活に関わるところでは、彼はインフラや教育などに関わる様々な予算を削減し、既にガス不足など市民の生活にさまざまな影響を及ぼしています。

またプラボウォ政権下では汚職事件が次々と発覚し、最近の国営石油ガス企業での汚職事件はインドネシア史上最大級の汚職事件とされています。

そして現在、スハルト政権崩壊後制限されていた政府機関への現役軍人の起用拡大などが含まれるインドネシア軍法の改正が進められ、可決目前まで迫っています。との改正案が成立すれば、スハルト時代の「軍の閣僚支配」復活につながると懸念されています。

今、インドネシア人達はインドネシアの未来のために戦っています。

The government & parliament are pushing for a revision of the TNI Law that expands the military’s role in government, law enforcement, and even cyber operations. This threatens civilian supremacy, opens the door to power abuse, and weakens democracy.

Worse, this revision is being discussed behind closed doors without public participation. Activists opposing it are facing intimidation. The military reform fought for since 1998 is now at risk of being reversed!
