Today is #WorldEnvironmentDay so we're taking back all the books that people have read, putting them onto shelves for people to look at, then giving them out again to other people who haven't read them yet. For free.
What a system. ❤️

Apparently when a new collection by George Stavropoulos arrived in Oalm Beach in the seventies, it was a sign that party season had begun. This cheery chiffon hopefully had some fun times, the wearer floating in her dreamy dress #goldsteinmuseum#fashionhistory
"WHEN LIFE CLOSES A DOOR MAKE A NEW ONE" So sad to hear of the passing of actor #AnthonyHead, Giles, the Watcher & mentor to #Buffy. He was known for helping Buffy reflect on the challenges of coping with loss and responsibility: "The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts."(The Gift).
Why wrap a common stone in pure gold? 🪙
Dr Adrian Maldonado from National Museums Scotland shares his favourite object in the Galloway Hoard and it raises a fascinating question.
This intricate gold pendant doesn't hold a rare gem; it holds an everyday stone.
Historians believe it was a master goldsmith’s touchstone.
By scratching gold against its surface, a craftsman could immediately test and authenticate the purity of metal gifts and trade items along the Viking networks. It was essentially an early medieval counterfeit detector.
See this extraordinary object up close in Sydney for a limited time!
