Marvin Minsky, one of the fathers of AI and the creator of the first random neural net, believed: "in many ways, they're a dead end". It’s so easy to dismiss good ideas in their infancy. It took many innovations to reach today's LLMs (more takeaways at the end). In 2000, he said:
