So what did I learn day 3. That the best laid plans do not always materialise! So that’s why today is day 3 and 4. I had forgotten that our plans take second place to the most important people in the building- the young people. #dht#100daysaDHT
Day 2! My first opportunity for input- interrupted by bells, automatic doors and some random vehicle! I’d have preferred a bee in an s1 classroom. The days are hectic and I’m learning every second #100daysaDHT#leadinglearning
That’s day one done. What did I learn today? Lots of new names that I don’t yet remember and that I don’t have a log in for my computer. The days are going to be long but rewarding! Day one of 100. #dht#100daysaDHT

Headteachers who have your back when it matters are worth a career. Heard a story recently where a teacher was assaulted and instead of supporting that teacher, they were blamed for it. Meetings followed where the teacher was humiliated into believing it was their fault through subtle gaslighting. Things like this you don’t recover from easily. On the flipside, leaders willing to sacrifice themselves for the teacher in these situations, because it’s the right thing to do, are worth their weight in gold.
New s4 pupils wanted their vocabulary/talking practice activity shared because they were proud of what they could do with no preparation! And they asked when teachers say they are putting stuff on Twitter- do they actually do it? This one does! @BraeviewAcademy @DundeeLearning

@Mr_Keyte You get the same amount of annual leave as other jobs and the rest of the « time off » is unpaid and prorated throughout the year- these types of comment do not help the profession- which is what it is! Something a lot of us worked hard for and hard at
