Paul Hutton served with the RAF but on leaving the military he found his mental health declined as PTSD took a crushing grip on his life.
Then he was given Gander.
Gander is Paul’s support dog – a five-year-old Sprocker Spaniel provided by Bravehound, a charity they Veterans’ Foundation is proud to support.
“As long as he’s here, I know I’m going to be ok,” says Paul.
You can help veterans like Paul, and charities like Bravehound, by playing the Veterans’ Lottery. This month’s jackpot is £75,000.

White slaves. 🏴🇬🇧
For three hundred years, pirates from Algiers sailed to Britain and Ireland, came ashore at night, and took people from their beds.
Baltimore, 1631. A hundred and seven people gone in one night. At most three ever came home.
Over a million Europeans ended up in chains in North Africa. Nobody bought them. They were stolen.
The kings of Europe paid ransom. For centuries.
In 1816, Britain stopped paying.
Lord Exmouth. Twenty British ships, six Dutch, against one of the strongest fortresses on earth. 27 August 1816. Nine hours. Fifty thousand cannonballs. 128 British sailors killed.
The next day the Dey signed. Every Christian slave freed. 1,083 people walked out of Algiers in one afternoon.
Nobody came for them... Until we did. ⚓🇬🇧💪
This is what the decline of Islam in Iran looks like. The situation is getting so out of control that the mullahs are losing their grip.
They’re trying to pass a law to punish anyone who refuses to wear a hijab in public.Gen Z is running Islam over with a steamroller in Iran.
The CAF-commissioned independent investigation into Cambridge University’s appointment of Jason Arday is now up and running, and needs the assistance of those who know Cambridge best.
We strongly encourage current and former academics, students and other members of the University community, as well as others with relevant knowledge, to come forward with information.
This might include policy documents, internal correspondence or first-hand accounts concerning Arday’s academic record, his appointment and subsequent time at Cambridge, the University’s response to concerns about his scholarship and its treatment of those who raised them, and the development and application of institutional policies relating to recruitment, promotion, academic misconduct, research integrity and equality, diversity and inclusion.
Anyone wishing to contribute can contact the Investigator directly at:

This is a rare opportunity to bring matters long discussed behind closed doors, amongst trusted colleagues, into the light. Those who have witnessed decisions or practices that they believe warrant scrutiny, but have hitherto felt unable to raise their concerns through official channels, can now contribute to an investigation independent of the University.
Please help us spread the word and ensure this appeal reaches as many Cambridge academics and others with relevant knowledge as possible.
Please read. Ed Davey turned these people away remember. And 30,000 people affected by contaminated blood, for decades ignored & lied to. 1000s died prematurely including my mum. Now we’re giving cross sex hormones & puberty (a naturel human process) blockers to children 😞
You live in a country where your school age daughter can be stabbed 10 times by a nut job incel, be lucky to live, and the judge will call him a bright boy who shouldn't be in jail and let him off with a 1 year suspended sentence.
Tonight, my family and I experienced something no family should ever have to go through.
Our restaurant, Singh’s Dining Restaurant in Hammersmith, was attacked by a group of Islamists.
We had been receiving death threats every single day, including one that specifically warned us that 28 October would be our last day.
We raised our concerns, and the @metpoliceuk were aware of the threats. Yet tonight, we found ourselves facing the very nightmare we had feared.
My daughter had to close the shutters just in time. I cannot even begin to imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t acted so quickly. We could have lost someone in our family tonight.
The attackers reportedly tried for a long time to break through the shutters to get inside, leaving shortly before the police arrived.
We have serious concerns about how the attackers knew when to leave, and whether they were alerted before the police arrived. These concerns deserve a thorough and transparent investigation.
Tonight, I am left facing a heartbreaking decision, Do we keep our doors open and risk our lives, or do we shut down the business we have worked so hard to build because I don’t serve Halal food.
No family should ever have to choose between their livelihood and their safety. No one should have to live in fear in their own place of work.
I am angry. I am heartbroken. I am frightened for my family’s safety.
I am calling on the @metpoliceuk to take these threats seriously, investigate tonight’s attack thoroughly, and ensure that my family is protected.
Please share this post. Let our voices be heard. We should not have to wait for someone to lose their life before our safety is taken seriously.
Enough IS Enough.

OTD in 1937 the Night of the Murdered Poets in Belarus. Stalin’s NKVD executed 132 leaders of Belarusian culture in one night.
Imagine it being state policy to do such a thing in this day and age…
When the BBC reported on the horrific deaths of the Bibas family, they softened "murdered" to "died," claiming they couldn't say "killed" without independent forensic verification.
Yet when reporting on Gazans, the same outlet freely uses "killed" based solely on unverified family accounts and Hamas-run health ministry data.
Why is the BBC's evidentiary bar so high for Israeli victims, but nonexistent for others? Is it a collapse of basic editorial standards, or a blatant double standard?

Fake news.
I was 2nd in the MPs’ queue from 7.30am this morning (behind Des Swayne) for a prayer card to reserve a seat and there was no sign of Farage then.
I didn’t see him come to prayers at 11.30am to come and claim a seat then either.
You snooze, you lose.
October 29th 1946: Surgeon-Captain Rick Jolly OBE, the only man to be decorated by both sides in the Falklands War was born in Hong Kong. Jolly treated over 600 wounded British & Argentine men. The Queen authorised Jolly to wear his Argentine medal alongside his British medals.
NEW @Telegraph understands Nigel Farage did not display a valid date stamp on his prayer card and it was removed as per Chamber protocol.
I also understand Mr Farage did not attend prayers and did not approach Commons staff regarding a seat reservation.

BREAKING: UN human rights experts have condemned French police for using “excessive force” against student protesters.
Those same experts quite literally said nothing when the Islamic Republic slaughtered tens of thousands of Iranians.
I thought Israel was an apartheid state that treats Arabs as badly as the old South Africa treated blacks? Perhaps someone could explain then why Arab parties soared in the Israeli elections? The left’s lies about Israel are so gross, says Brendan O’Neill
