1) keeping the data saved on a server opposed to the group. so if you join discord for a shiur series after it started you can actually still watch the video, meanwhile whatsapp you can't see the old posts
2)discord lets you separate channels so you can separate sections instead of groups, and can limit viewership by role people can choose, so you could have a channel dedicated to daf yomi, amud yomi, dirshu, chitas, etc and only people who want to see them, and can choose which channel give alerts
3)can have multiple voice channels, so can have multiple shiurim at a time, with camera options if wanted.
4) can set up events to know when shiurim would be given and can even list time so it will auto adjust for time zone
just as a start.
