It is a privilege for me to participate in the Somalia Civil Society Summit organized by SONSA, where we discussed the humanitarian–development–peacebuilding nexus. Strong cooperation is essential among the local actors with legal entities, donors, and the government.

Empowering women-led CSOs is essential for equitable quality service delivery. When we uplift them, we build a better future for our girls and boys, and a thriving society.

Standing alongside Halimo Elmi, a giant in the #Humanitarian sector w/30yrs of service. @NGOConsortium appreciates her dedication
At #COP29 We must advocate for inclusive climate financing that is equitable and accessible, prioritizing those with low adaptive capacity.
💡 Empowering women and youth in these discussions is crucial, as they are key to building resilient communities. @NGOConsortium
At COP29, we reaffirm the urgency of fair, timely, & accessible climate financing. The Loss & Damage Fund is a vital step, but it must reach vulnerable communities like those in Somalia, where climate & conflict collide. Women’s voices must guide solutions. #COP29#ClimateJustice
Advocating for national NGOs and local actors is essential for advancing #Localization.
A big thank you to @NimoA_Hassan for leading by example! The @NGOConsortium members truly appreciate your tireless advocacy.
Proud to stand with #national NGOs, #local actors & #multistakeholder partners, empowering frontline communities. We must address power imbalances & elevate local voices as true leaders in shaping their future. Let’s strengthen, not duplicate, 4 a more #equitable & lasting impact
The #WorldFoodDay reminds us that ending hunger requires collective action. From government initiatives to community efforts, the @MOASomalia plays a key role in building a food-secure Somalia. Together, we can achieve #ZeroHunger and create a brighter future for all. #Somalia

It was a privilege for me to attend the launching of the 2024 HNRP. With thanks to the donors, NGOs saved more lives in 2023. With slightly reduced emergency from 2023, there is a critical need to invest in resilience, climate adaptation and durable solutions in 2024.
Millions of people in Somalia continue to battle hunger & malnutrition. According to #HNRP2024 about 4.3 M people almost 1/4 🇸🇴 population remain acutely food insecure
Humanitarian assistance is preventing worse outcomes, but adequate funding is critical 2 sustaining response
Productive meeting with @ShelterBox team in #Mogadishu. Learning about their impactful work, and discussing ways to work together in #Somalia. Most importantly building bridges between @ShelterBox & NGOs towards inclusive shelter solutions.
