Donβt get excited when people say good things about you. If you do, you will get addicted to it and when others say bad things about you, you will be hurt. Be neutral to all kinds of comments. Good and bad.
βWeβre No Longer Comfortable Flying On This Particular Aircraft, Even If The Fault Has Been Fixed.β ~ Altercation Between Some Passengers And Air Peace Employees At The Airport Following Concerns Over a Faulty Aircraft. π
Bilkisu Umar, I have acknowledged your response and I will take the appropriate action accordingly. What is particularly concerning now is that, this time, you have gone beyond commenting on my public activities and have dragged my identity as a husband and father into the matter. By extension, you have brought my marital and parental life into a dispute that concerns me personally.
I have tolerated and ignored enough, but I will not allow this to continue. There is a clear line between legitimate criticism of my public views and activities and repeatedly intruding into my private and family life.
You have now crossed that line and I will address the matter through the appropriate channels.
I went to the @ArikAirlineNg counter in MM1 yesterday. You first have to have your luggage weighed. After weighing it, theyβll give you a piece of paper showing you have excess luggage, if you do.
From there, youβll go to the check-in counter to check in. At the check-in counter, theyβll give you another piece of paper and ask you to take it back to the weighing counter.
From the weighing counter, they will look at the paper and ask you to go across the hall to pay to a cashier. After that, the cashier will give you two other pieces of paper and ask you to take them back to the weighing counter.
After the weighing counter confirms payment, they will send you back to the check-in counter to collect your boarding pass.
I asked them what would have happened if I had had mobility problems. I told them that civil service no do reach like this and that I didnβt understand why Arik needed to inconvenience passengers this much simply because they donβt trust their staff. They stared at me blankly. I couldnβt be too harsh on them because they were just doing what they were asked to do.
It is why some of us are often irked by the arrogance of some who believe that everything in the private sector is superior to the public sector.
Federal Ministry of Arik.
After Fajr this morning, with the permission of the Imam, a Good Samaritan gave a reminder that really stayed with me.
He spoke about the sacrifices of men who work and provide for their families. A man may earn β¦100,000, yet 95% of it goes towards feeding his family, paying bills, school fees, rent and other responsibilities. Very little is left for himself.
He then encouraged everyone to contribute towards the running and welfare of the mosque according to their means.
Someone may earn β¦100 million and contribute β¦10,000, while another earns β¦1,000 and contributes β¦100. The amount may be different, but the sacrifice and sincerity behind the contribution matter.
Most importantly, he reminded us to earn halal.
There is no blessing in providing for your family with money acquired through haram means. What you bring home may feed your family, but the burden of acquiring it unlawfully remains with you.
May Allah bless the work of everyone who struggles to provide for their families, put barakah in our halal earnings, and accept every sincere contribution towards His house.
Earn halal.
Provide responsibly.
Give according to your means,
and always keep your intention sincere.
After about a year, my BYD Tang L in Lagos just hit 10,000km.
Zero servicing since I got it. I charge during the day using excess energy from my solar system, so charging cost is practically zero. Car still feels brand new and I enjoy the autonomous driving experience.

There's a small window in life when your parents are healthy, your children are little, and everyone is happy and together. It feels like it will last forever, it wonβt. Cherish every moment of it.

I hold no particular personal affection for Nasir El-Rufai. Yet if Arewa is to have any realistic prospect of progress, it urgently needs leaders who possess his brand of fearless, unapologetic, no-nonsense resolve.
