Your episode deserves more than one upload. Let's talk.
Nobody found Joe Rogan through a 3-hour episode.
They found him through a 2-minute clip.
Your episode is the asset. The clip is the distribution.
Podcasters: how many clips are you cutting from each episode?
AI is decent at finding the loud moments. Where it still misses for me is the setup, the 20 seconds before the punchline that make a clip land for someone who's never heard the show
@Cristina_AC_X Smart to keep a few old ones up. Once the first episodes are out, a short clip pinned on the channel page will do more than a trailer for people landing there cold
@nateliason Same idea would work great for video captions. Highlight the bad line in a transcript, rewrite it, then send every fix to the agent in one batch instead of re-prompting each time
@CaseyAdams@Substack@Listener@PirateWires@planetmaxwell how are you attributing the clip side, like when a short on Reels pulls someone into the full episode on Spotify? that handoff is the part I've never seen tracked well
Wild that the device is mostly gone and the format it named outlived it. Most of what I edit now gets watched on YouTube, and people still call it a podcast
@apkmap0 for scripts, giving Claude the transcripts of your 3 best retention videos and asking it to copy the pacing works way better than a topic prompt
@richardintheuk Did they tell you what they'll do with it after? If they plan to clip it, knowing the 2 or 3 big questions ahead lets you give tighter answers that cut well
@markproduct Harder to start, easier to keep though. A YouTube video from last year can still pay you this month, an X post is mostly done after a day or two
Curious if any of these end up helping streamers turn a 4 hour VOD into something people actually watch later. That's where most live creators lose their best moments
@justingordon212 what’s changed most for you between ep 1 and ep 10? with most hosts I’ve edited it’s how much less they jump in over the guest by then
@finnknoxai same problem shows up with AI edit tools on podcasts. the cuts are clean now, getting them to keep the pause before a punchline when you ask is still hit or miss
@Carl_M79 got a couple of these too. they always end with a “voting” page that wants you to log in with your X account, real podcasters just send you the episode
