you might think people only need to heal from bad relationships. but the truth is people are healing from hateful parents, betrayal from friends, sibling feuds, academic problems, stressed in their works. always remind that not everything is about romantic relationships.
You can’t force anyone to change. We have a fantasy that if we just explain to someone how they’re hurting us, they’ll want to change. Accountability is an inside job. People must choose it.
The older you get the more you realize that everything REALLY is that deep.. the people you confide in, trust, date, become friends with, the opportunities you take. What you consume mentally, spiritually, & emotionally. It’s very deep & shouldn’t be taken lightly!
It’s like, when I speak my truth, it’s coming from the core of who I am. But, man, sometimes the way it comes out? Not exactly how I pictured it in my head. It’s like my heart’s in the right place, but my delivery? That could use some work.
So, when I apologize for how things came out, it’s not me stepping back from my words. No way. It’s me owning up to the fact that I could’ve been clearer, kinder even, without diluting the message. It’s tough, you know? Balancing that honesty with empathy, making sure I’m heard without leaving unnecessary scars.
Reflecting on this, it’s clear it’s about more than just making amends. It’s about learning, growing, and fine-tuning this ability to express my deepest truths in a way that bridges gaps, not widens them. How do I keep my integrity intact while being open to changing how I present my thoughts? It’s a continuous process, a commitment to doing better, understanding more, and respecting the power of words—both what’s said and how it’s said!!
