What you are saying could be a potential solution or practically impossible, completly depending on actual architecture and patterns they are using, which we have no idea. Same goes for perf costs. O(n) theory and real life practicality are different things.

Most likely they fly them to Poland or other neighbour country, land near border and drive them onwards.
