None of that helped. The watch will not pair because it says it needs to update. And it won’t update because it says it’s not connected to the internet. I cannot get passed the screen where you pair it.

@AppleSupport help! I cannot get my series 2 Apple Watch to pair with my new iPhone. It says the watch needs to update but when it tries to update it says it is not connected to the internet . I have tried reset and everything I know to do.
