lovely evening celebrating being shortlisted for a @PrivateEyeNews paul foot award :-) huge congrats to @PeterKGeoghegan and Khadija Sharife on your win!
In the @NewStatesman, Andrew Marr says it’s “a win for the north, and Britain’s resurgent non-metropolitan journalism” that our reporting is being read in Westminster.
Yesterday I got my first ever paper copy of the #Sheffield Tribune (@sheffieldtrib)! Normally it’s delivered by email, but they celebrated their fifth birthday last week and to mark the occasion they’ve put together a brilliant limited edition physical copy of their work 🤩
These two will be out in Meersbrook Park from 12.30 until 2pm giving out free copies of our print edition — come along to say hi and grab a few copies to give to your friends!
Read this. As a former cub reporter on the Sheffield Telegraph - I failed my probation at the first attempt - I can only admire the great work of @sheffieldtrib and wish them the best for the @PrivateEyeNews Paul Foot Award.
I won that a while back.
Must have been a mistake.
Next week, my colleagues at @sheffieldtrib are up for the @PrivateEyeNews Paul Foot Award. And for the next few weeks, Sheffielders can join The Tribune as members for FREE.
Please share this link with your Sheffield friends and colleagues to join up.

Thanks for signing up 🙏 As I hope the piece made clear, it's built on years of detailed local reporting from the @ManchesterMill team, including brilliant colleagues like @jackdulhanty and @molssimp. If you value this kind of journalism, please back us to do more of it.
I’ve been writing about Andy Burnham in Manchester for a while. We’ve had a few run-ins but I think he has qualities that many people don’t appreciate and weaknesses that spell trouble.
I wrote this for @ManchesterMill - I hope it’s insightful and fair.
