Since this is a sacred dance offered in homage to the Buddha, it was filmed respectfully with shrine altars in the background. Holding and using oil lamps (oil/candle bowls) is not part of Thai culture. Thai people only use individual candles for performances. Furthermore, they are never used when performing for kings or queens; to speak bluntly, doing so is considered deeply disrespectful.
Please respect each other’s culture. This is simply an effort to protect our unique and invaluable cultural heritage from improper or careless usage. Thank you, and please take responsibility by providing proper credit and a statement. @GMMTV@ScarletHeartTH

Htamein Thaing is a traditional style of dress from Myanmar’s Yadanabon Era and is a distinctive part of Myanmar’s cultural heritage. In Miss Universe 2022, Myanmar’s representative wore Htamein Thaing as her national costume, showcasing Myanmar’s traditional attire on the international stage.

Scarlet Heart Thailand also features a dancing peacock motif, a symbol deeply rooted in Myanmar's historical heritage. The dancing peacock has appeared on Konbaung's national flag, coat of arms, state seals & coins.

Respect for cultural heritage is essential in media production. In the upcoming drama #ScarletHeartTH, the attire and cultural performances closely resemble 19th-century Burmese traditional 'Htaingmathein' and culture. We kindly ask @GMMTV to review this and properly acknowledge the cultural origin. 🇲🇲

We understand the Burmese cultural influences in the Lanna period and are not rejecting all the costumes in *Scarlet Heart Thailand*. However, the women’s attire appears to reflect Myanmar’s Yadanarbon Era, which came much later than the Lanna period, when Myanmar was in the Taungoo Era. These two eras had distinctly different clothing styles.
Fantasy should not be an excuse to misrepresent another culture’s heritage. We respectfully request GMMTV to clarify the inspiration behind these costumes and properly acknowledge Myanmar’s cultural origins if applicable.
We seek neither conflict nor controversy, only cultural respect and recognition.
@GMMTV , please respect Myanmar culture.
