Councils should have staff who just go around and sort out minor problems they see. Bag of rubbish - collect it. Street sign a bit wonky - straighten it. Overgrown weeds - pull them. All those small jobs. They're the things that make a place better to live if they're resolved.

Brother, I have rejected cookies, closed three popups, declined your newsletter, accepted your privacy policy and somehow given you my location. I have not even seen the fucking website yet.

Interesting observation: the one thing that makes my primary aged children not want to go to school or a kids’ club is other kids in the class being disruptive and behaving badly, and teachers not being able to stop it. Allowing disruption of learning is not inclusive.
I sometimes get a wave of sadness when I remember that Paperchase isn’t a thing anymore and there’s nowhere comparable that I can go and explore fun stationery
“Disney+ will now have ads on every plan.”
You know what? Where the hell is my DVD player? I’m ready to go back to buying movies, owning them forever, and watching them in peace.
People who want a slow life are rebels against this modern culture. They don't want this constant stimulation. Grind 24/7 to make it. Or following "morning routine" that turns your mental health to shit. What they really want is stillness. A calm nervous system. A life free of anxiety about "what to do next". They want calm mornings. A quiet coffee. Meaningful work. And alone time to think about the things that matter. You're built for depth. Not noise and performance. And trying to force a peaceful soul to live in a hyper-stimulated world is one of the fastest ways to lose yourself.
