@Ka81 Growing up, we would go to the local library with school and be able to take home up to 4 books per week. I was an avid reader and this was a joy for me as we could not afford to buy books new. Is this not a thing any more for schools? Do schools do this anymore ?
@Emma_Turner75 Itโs a foot in mouth moment for sure. I donโt know anyone who uses breakfast club for the reasons they are saying, itโs mostly parents hurrying off to work. Labour are their own worst enemies
@smithsmm The only parents I know who use breakfast clubs are those that have to dash off to work after they drop and occasionally for children who find morning transitions difficult. No one is going off for a coffee with their mum mates at 7.30 in the morning
@suzanda65039315@TTRadioOfficial I also have a sibling with a profound learning disability and my granddaughter is severely autistic (sorry if this is not the correct term) but it doesnโt mean my youngest child should not have the same opportunities as others just because you decide her sen is not bad enough
@DaveBraith48502@DeputyGrocott My child wears ear defenders and she manages fine to engage in class
It doesnโt stop you hearing, it just blocks out background noise
@darrengrimes I think you mean itโs a slap in the face for those recieving it! ยฃ10 for pensioners, the disabled and their carers! It might cover what, 2 days of electricity if your lucky
@storiesbyjemay Some of these comments ๐ how can people be so hateful to a little girl. No one knows her or whatโs going on in her life. The derision over what sheโs wearing and her hair, sheโs a child, just leave her be
@jonnybid Would it not be better to identify the children who are struggling in yr 6 and put things into place for them when they start yr 7?? Isnโt waiting until yr 8 a bit ๐
16yr old started college today. He didnโt get the gcse results that he needed for Aโlevels and was v upset. He didnโt wallow though, he picked himself up, found something else and got on with it all by himself. Who said young people have no resilience
@HannahP95844309 @jillyglenister@MichaelRosenYes Hate the schools think it is ok to miss art to practice handwriting. My daughters school thankfully donโt have pen licenses but my sons did, I had to tell the teacher to give him a pen in the end as he was never going to get one
@Liberdade80@Shrink_at_Large My husband worked with an autistic young person who claimed pip. He could not plan a journey so relied on parents to travel to work. He would have to be reminded to wear a coat in bad weather and when to stop and eat. Itโs not always straightforward
@Tanni_GT How much of the assessment is based on medical evidence ? I know someone who sounds like they should be able to apply but all the hysteria in the media makes them reluctant. They do have care needs and are working. Gp said they would support
@TROBINS82527917 @fromthenorth66@oldishbird1 There are lots of conditions that are under the mental health umbrella, then there a physical illnesses that impact mental health. You canโt generalise mental health conditions
@TROBINS82527917 @oldishbird1 Private therapy, medication, being able to work less hours
So many things
Anyone can become unwell, you never know if and when it could happen to you or a loved one
