I have a friend who bought the amc coin at 40k a few hours before the amc ceo randomly bitched about the tokenized stock because over the previous weekend the first coin paired with amc ran and the stock price onchain sky rocketed cuz more shares couldn’t be minted till Sunday night.

And then a few hours after that tweet Vlad replied and the coin went from 0 to 150m in one night.

He hit 2k to 1M upnl in one night. And got a lot of it out. Then the next day he sized into zcat at like 8M and it goes to 30M the next day and then Ansem tweets it and it goes to 130M.

In the span of 72 hours he hit 1M upnl on 2 different coins.

The point of this tweet is not that the trenches are back. The point is that I should have sold everything I held on chain as soon as that happened. It was a learning experience.

Because there is no new money onchain. There is no new liquidity to support those moves and not have all of onchain die.

Every coin that has gone up the last few months is because of crypto natives deploying more capital as btc bottomed.

Retail got absolutely rinsed last cycle on memes. Each cycle we turn more ppl off to crypto than we onboard.

There are no new users from RH yet. I don’t believe any of fomo’s numbers.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that every cycle is different. 2017 was ICOs. 2021 was NFTs. 2024 was memes. None of them repeated so far.

But I’m pretty sure that crypto kitties in 2017 got some press and had a run which signaled the nft cycle coming. And in the fall of 2021 shib went to 40B in like 30 days after being out for a year signaling the meme cycle coming next.

And I think that mini AI meta in fall of 2024 signaled to us what’s next. It was obviously all bullshit back then but AI has sped up and crypto rails are the only way for agents to transact. It’s just obvious to me this is the crypto x AI cycle. I don’t even fckin use AI so I have no biases here.

You make the most money in crypto speculating on what the next big thing will be before it happens. And I think what brings more new ppl into crypto this cycle will be cool crypto AI stuff. Interesting stuff. Stuff that makes ppl feel smart to buy. It’s certainly funnier to say you retired off Fartcoin but it’s cooler to say irl “yeah so idk man. This agent keeps reinventing itself and figuring out more ways to burn its token and bring in revenue and it minted this nft that holders could buy and get a share of the fees. It launched a prediction market on its site just for kicks and more fees. It’s like alive man. Thing is a genius. Yeah man hooks they are called. I think it means they are hooked into all the frontier lab data centers directly I’m not sure. Still doing my research but I’m already up on it 3x in a week”.

If the coin is also memeable…it’s gg.

Cryptos greatest onboarding cycles have alway come when people buying the coins feel smarter than ppl not buying the coins. They think they are smarter than their friend, co worker, big titty goth barista, whatever.

And when ppl feel smarter buying something then they hold it longer which means those coins will run much higher.

It’s just how I see the cycle playing out. Idk tho.
