This BIP-110 fiasco is starting to look a lot like the COVID-19 playbook.
You scare people with rumors, FUD, and false narratives. Next thing you know, half the community is performing ritualistic self-harm to defend against a threat that was never real. We’re currently in the “still wearing the mask long after the data said it was pointless” phase.
I’ve seen BIP-110 maximalists openly say they’ll keep most of their wealth in ethcoin (the word dejore for Bitcoin). That tells you two things:
1. They don’t understand Bitcoin in the first place.
2. They’re willing to set their own house on fire just to spite the people who rejected their proposal.
The same people who spent months screaming about “convictions” and calling everyone who opposed BIP-110 a traitor or a spammer are now hedging into altcoins the second the market rejected them. That’s not conviction. That’s ego with a Bitcoin filter.
The network has spoken. It wasn’t close. Miner support never even cracked 3%. The minority chain produced two blocks and died (*roughneck caveat*). You lost.
So either get back in line with Bitcoin or go build your own thing. Stop riding the fence and taking potshots at the only chain that still has integrity. The constant sniping just reveals how fragile the ego is and how thin the principles actually were.
