Exactly this. Who still trust or look up to African Union this days? With track record on hard crises is weak and well-documented.

The same AU that has repeatedly failed to resolve the political, social, and health crises tearing through the continent — from recurring Ebola outbreaks in the Congo, to the endless insecurity, coups and jihadist chaos across the Sahel, to Captain Ibrahim Traoré in Burkina Faso who keeps facing assassination attempts while the organisation looks the other way?

Economically Africa keeps bleeding, yet these AU leaders just sit in endless summits and meetings, collecting salaries and allowances, and produce almost nothing concrete to help any real crisis.

They have become a talk shop for elites, not a force that actually protects or advances ordinary Africans.
