83-year-old grandmother Brigitte Stegemann was euthanized against her will in Canada.

She declined MAiD, citing her Christian faith and her preference for a natural death.

Her granddaughter and primary caregiver was away on a 10-day vacation when staff reportedly held private conversations with Brigitte to convince her to die by lethal injection.

They reportedly claimed she had agreed to be killed, despite there being no evidence of her consent.

On the day of her death, her family says she remained silent, with her hands in a prayer position, and did not give the final verbal confirmation they had been assured would be required.

The injection proceeded anyway, and she was killed on July 10.

Ogni mese deve risarcire l'uomo che ha stuprato sua figlia.
A raccontantare l'assurda vicenda è Davide Zaccarelli, di Faenza.
Dal suo stipendio di circa 1700 euro ogni mese vengono pignorati 350 euro che finiscono nel conto della madre di Ezio Foschini.
Quest'ultimo è un professore che è stato condannato per quello che ha fatto a Elisa Zaccarelli, una ragazza che allora aveva 15 anni.
Nel 2007 l'ha baciata in bocca e le ha toccato le parti intime.
E' l'inizio di una storia processuale.
Foschini, dopo sei mesi di carcere, affronta da uomo libero il processo.
Viene condannato a quattro anni di carcere e a un risarcimento di 66mila euro: 40mila da dare a Elisa e 26mila euro ai genitori.
Il padre di Elisa a Libero racconta che a questo punto il professore "risulta nullatenente, scopriamo che qualche tempo prima della sentenza aveva fatto sparire i soldi dal suo conto, trasferendoli su quello del padre".
Davide Zaccarelli a questo punto denuncia il professore, e viene poi condannato: "Siamo condannati per aver causato un danno biologico nei confronti dei genitori di Foschini. In pratica il papà del violentatore sarebbe stato male per la nostra denuncia" racconta.
"Dobbiamo risarcirlo e pagare le spese legali. In tutto gli devo, tra interessi maturati e condanna, 40mila euro. Soldi che non abbiamo, per cui mi pignorano lo stipendio".
Il dramma si compie il 29 giugno 2014, quando Elisa si suicida.
Una famiglia distrutta dal dolore, e una vicenda processuale che lascia tante, troppe domande in sospeso.

Ne nacque una discussione, così andarono dal leone il re della foresta, per risolvere le loro divergenze.

Prima ancora di raggiungere il luogo nella foresta dove il leone sedeva sul suo trono, l'asino cominciò a piangere:

- Maestà, è vero che l'erba è blu?

Il leone rispose:

- Sì è vero, l'erba è blu.

L'asino fu felicissimo e continuò:

- La tigre non è d'accordo con me, discute e si arrabbia..Per favore, puniscila..!

Il re degli animali annunciò:

- La tigre sarà punita con 5 anni di silenzio.

L'asino saltò di gioia e continuò a camminare, ripetendo con soddisfazione:

- L'erba è blu, l'erba è blu...

La tigre, dopo aver accettato la punizione, chiese al leone:

- Maestà, perché mi avete punito? Non è forse l'erba verde?

Il leone rispose:
- In effetti l'erba è verde.

La tigre sorpresa, chiese:

"Allora perché mi sta punendo?"

Il leone rispose:
"Non ha nulla a che vedere con il fatto che l'erba sia blu o verde." Lei è stata punita perché un animale così coraggioso e intelligente come la tigre, non può sprecare tempo a discutere con un asino e poi venire da me con questa domanda.

Morale:
La cosa più grande che puoi sprecare, è discutere con un idiota e un fanatico che non si preoccupano né della verità né della realtà, ma solo della vittoria delle proprie convinzioni e illusioni.

Non sprecate mai tempo in discussioni senza senso..

Ci sono persone che a prescindere dalla quantità di prove e di fatti, non riescono ancora a capire..

Tutto ciò che vogliono è avere ragione, anche se non è affatto così.

Islamic extremists attacked the predominantly Christian village of Naridon in Kaduna State, Nigeria, killing at least 30 people, including eight children.

The attackers stormed the village late on July 26, opening fire on residents inside their homes and setting houses ablaze as families fled into nearby fields and bushes.

Community search teams continued recovering bodies from homes, farmland, and surrounding bushland, while several people remained missing.

Local officials and residents identified the attackers as Islamist Fulani militias.

11 Christians, including children, were killed in the same area just last month.

Every day, for years now, someone asks me the same question: "How much are the Israelis paying you?" As if the only explanation for defending Jews and Israel is a paycheck. The idea that I might simply see this conflict differently doesn't compute for them. What I do is, to me, entirely normal. It only looks strange in a world where hating Jews has become the default setting of the crowd, and staying silent, or joining in, is what passes for sanity.

Many are familiar with this photograph from the Lviv pogrom, 1941. Locals — including a child and an adolescent — chase a woman stripped of her clothes, bleeding, terrified, humiliated. The Nazis had spent years demonizing the Jews before this moment. They didn't need to pull the trigger themselves. They just needed to make the target "legitimate," and ordinary people did the rest, voluntarily. Something otherwise suppressed in them came out, and they let it.

On October 7, I woke up to the videos. One of them was of Naama Levy, arms zip-tied behind her back, dragged by her dusty hair out of a black jeep. As she was moved to the front of the car, she looked straight into the camera of the man filming her. The back of her trousers was soaked in blood. I saw the cuts on her arms, her bare feet, and I watched a crowd film her while cursing her, spitting on her, hitting her. I wished I did not have an imagination. I wished I could delete what I'd seen before her mother saw it.

Weeks later, I flew to Israel for the first time, burning every bridge to a world that was celebrating what I'd watched. I went to Ra'anana and met Naama's mother, Ayelet. We made the first post from Israel asking the world to listen, asking the universe to bring her back alive. I promised her that what Hamas did would haunt them in their graves.

Arendt called it the banality of evil, and people needed mental gymnastics to accept what she meant. It's easier to believe monsters do monstrous things than to believe your neighbor might. But human beings are built for both good and evil. What we become is a choice, shaped by the moral compass we build or fail to build.

Just like an ordinary person joins a mob to taunt a scapegoat, an ordinary person is capable of standing against it. For some of us, peer pressure is minuscule in comparison with a nagging conscience.

That's why the photo above matters, still, 85 years later. The Nazis were defeated in Europe but their legacy is rampant in large parts of the Arab world, especially in Palestinian culture. Fused with a dash of communism and a splash of Jihadism, that legacy morphed into global Antizionism.

In 1930, the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset published The Revolt of the Masses, a book that still feels uncomfortably prophetic. His central target was not the poor or the working class, but a new kind of human being he called the “mass man”.

The mass man, Ortega argued, is defined by attitude rather than income. He is the ordinary person who is perfectly satisfied with himself, demands nothing higher of his own character or intellect, and yet insists that his mediocrity be treated as a right. He does not defer to excellence, competence, or higher standards. He regards them with suspicion or resentment. What previous ages saw as the privilege of the few - political influence, cultural authority, the right to shape society - the mass man now claims as his due, without any corresponding effort to rise above the average.

Ortega believed this type of person had been produced by the very success of modern civilisation. Rising living standards, mass education, and liberal institutions had given ordinary people unprecedented power and comfort. But they had not produced a corresponding sense of responsibility or humility before higher achievements. The result was a revolt: the mass man refused to accept the authority of superior knowledge, culture, or character. He demanded that everything be brought down to his level.

The danger, Ortega warned, was that a civilisation cannot survive if its central actors no longer respect the standards that made it possible. When the average begins to dominate without aspiring to anything beyond itself, excellence is undermined, institutions decay, and politics becomes an expression of resentment rather than responsibility.

Ortega’s diagnosis remains unsettling because it is not a complaint about poverty or exclusion. It is a warning about self-satisfied mediocrity armed with power.
