@richorama Totally agree that simplification is a worthwhile endeavour for every project! And although it's out of fashion, server side rendering has its place, especially if you don't need a REST API or a 'very' fancy UI!

@giltene Yeah I think with only two official supported release types, the LTS has to be ultra conservative as lowest common denominator. Sounds like there is a market for another distribution with transparent backports though, so it's a matter of pushing for that upstream if possible.
