🇮🇹 Pierluigi Martini - Minardi M193 Ford V8

🇧🇷 Christian Fittipaldi - Minardi M193 Ford V8
Driving for the Minardi-Ford team, teammates Martini and Fittipaldi were having a strong recovery drive, running in 7th and 8th place respectively on the final lap as they headed down Monza's main straight toward the checkered flag.
As they approached the line nose-to-tail at roughly 200 mph (over 310 km/h), Fittipaldi's left-front wheel clipped Martini's right-rear wheel.
The contact acted like a ramp, launching Fittipaldi's Minardi into a full 360-degree backward somersault through the air.
Miraculously, the car landed back down on its four wheels, sliding across the finish line. Fittipaldi walked away completely unhurt and officially classified in 8th place, right behind Martini in 7th.
Aftermath
Christian Fittipaldi was furious, firmly believing that Martini intentionally lifted off the throttle or brake-checked him unexpectedly right at the end of the straight, leaving him no time to react.
Martini apologized in the motorhome shortly after the race but Fittipaldi maintained years later that telemetry data supported his belief that his teammate's sudden deceleration caused the avoidable, terrifying airborne accident.
