Today was about Causes of the War of 1812. We used an awesome activity called "Dividing the Pie" where students determine which causes had the most impact. They also had to justify why they ranked the impacts the way they did. Can't wait for them to share! #engagement#edutwitter
The lesson of the week is one of the first big games I made for my class. In Settlers of America students compete to build the most successful colony by making decisions about multiple historical events. https://t.co/06TiklW0XV They loved it again! #sschat
@mrmatera @moler3031 @scottmpetri@MeehanEDU @jcorippo Can you tell me more? I would love to do this with my students, but cannot find more information on how to run a hero builder.
@DHelmEDU@TaraKendyle71 @moler3031 This looks so amazing! Is there any way you can change the permissions on the forms (so that I can view them to create my own ~ or use yours)? I would really appreciate it.
Not sure how the transition will go, but if you are hanging out where the skies are blue, then please find me! @historywithmonnat #sschat (and then teach me how to rebuild there).

💫 Student Highlights🌟 we have begun to talk about Jefferson’s presidency & arguably, the most important Supreme Court Decision in US history - Marbury v Madison. The 8th graders were tasked to create a comic strip illustrating this complex case . So talented! ✍🏽🎨
Ss @HeritageBroncos created an Andrew Jackson Oval Office. They designed items by connecting what they learned about him and his presidency. Ex: the Nullification Crisis, spoils system, suffrage, Indian Removal Act, & The Trail of Tears. @gcisdSS
How is everyone teaching the nuts and bolts of paragraph writing for a research paper? Do you have something you love in teaching writing intros and conclusions? I'd love to hear about it because I'm in the thick of it right now! #sschat
#sschat question a student asked that I haven't been able to easily find an answer too...after the Quebec Act of 1774, were American colonists free to move into the Ohio River Valley (thereby negating the Proclamation of 1763)?
