@SeanEMcGrath Here's link to electronic version of the commentary. Search the work "million" to find the location of this claim. https://t.co/9C2Q3Dyk0C.

@SeanEMcGrath James O'Donnell gives the word count of Augustine's corpus as 5 million, by far the largest surviving from antiquity. (See his commentary on the Confessions)

[Scott Baker @bakerlink]

I first met Mike Gerson in a college dorm 39 years ago.

He was busy infusing theological words into a legal pad with great intensity and semi-legibility.

That was pretty much the story of every day after.

Even, in recent years, through many, many days of terrible pain.

[Scott Baker @bakerlink]

Writing day and night. Like he was running out of time.

And he was.

Michael died early this morning.

“Peacefully,” his wife texted just after midnight.

@wcmclaa @HootenWilson Honestly, I’m not concerned that my voice is not heard 100 years from now. What is that anyway? I am more concerned that as “a creature created in time” but who is created for communion with the eternal that I ground the conversations (my very life and lifestyle) in the eternal.

[Andy Montgomery @montgomeryandy]

@wcmclaa @HootenWilson When I faithfully represent and explain what you say to another so that they too might understand, have I not continued that discussion? Where is the arrogance? Why is this a figment of my imagination? This is how conversations are continued across generations.

[Samford Howard College of Arts & Sciences @HowardCollegeSU]

"Todd on the Quad," Samford Howard College's annual tailgate is back this weekend! Classics and Philosophy Professor Randy Todd has been roasting pigs during @SamfordU's homecoming since 2010. Alumni, friends and students, join us this weekend, Saturday, Nov. 5, from 11-1:30 p.m.

[Isaac Adams @isickadams]

Yesterday I got to meet a class at Samford that read Talking About Race. Such an encouraging time! You might not know but Talking About Race wasn’t my first book. “Training: How Do I Grow as a Christian?” was (2019, @9Marks). 1/2

Nice article about Josh Reeves of @SamfordReligion @HowardCollegeSU @SamfordU in The Alabama Episcopalian. @DioAlaNews 1/2

@Paolo_r10 @Dr_TheHistories Pics are of Tholos tomb at Mycenae. You can see the relieving triangle and massive lintel at doorway.

[Andy Montgomery @montgomeryandy]

@Paolo_r10 @Dr_TheHistories I think it is sometimes called a false arch. Not an architect or engineer so I’m not clear on its relative merits. I think it is fairly common to Bronze Age cultures in the region even in dome like applications

[Andy Montgomery @montgomeryandy]

@piagnone Since Poseidon is The god of earthquakes is Herodotus wrong?

[Andy Montgomery @montgomeryandy]

@Paolo_r10 @Dr_TheHistories It is a corbel arch. You can see similar construction in the nearby magazine at the Mycenaean palace at Tyrins.
