@Grubhub I had it applied to an order, then went back to look at the menu, and when I returned to the order page I got two messages, one saying the promo code had been removed and another saying it couldn't be used again. But I never actually got to place my order. Sad. :(
@Fingatoni @ThatsKev4U@FormIVAgression@EsterNova8@LatinLegacy@paulhardware To add to this, you are still supposed to report and pay taxes on prize winnings of less than $600; however, $600 is the threshold where the company providing the prize must report it to the IRS. For physical goods, fair market value is used to determine the amount.
@Fingatoni @ThatsKev4U@FormIVAgression@EsterNova8@LatinLegacy@paulhardware Prize tax is different from gift tax. For prizes, you have to report any prize winnings that total $600 or more and it is taxed as income. If someone wins a PC worth $4,500 and is in a 22% tax bracket, they must pay $990 in taxes for the prize or they are violating the law.
@nexuslinkusa@williamcurry19@luv_mydachshund@summerskye81 Omg, thanks so much!!As for the people commenting on my name, I understand why you are skeptical - I do not actually do unboxings anymore though (I closed back in 2016/2017) and will not be doing promotion for this. I entered normally and was lucky and I am so grateful! ❤️
@GhostDumaine@amahnke No one is limiting Mike's 1st Amendment rights. 1st Amendment is protection from government intervention. Wondery is a private business that can do whatever they want. I can't publish on their platform - is that a violation of my rights? Why would it be for Mike and not you or I?
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews Final note: I find it hypocritical that a man who claims to champion free speech decided to block someone simply for having a dissenting point of view. It's not like I insulted him; he's the one who insulted me. I guess "free speech" only refers to speech with which he agrees.
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews This guy called me a jackass and blocked me simply because I was trying to correct misconceptions about free speech and free markets. He can be upset about the show getting cancelled if he wants, but it has nothing to do with free speech. I'm simply trying to educate.
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews Rather, free speech is what allowed this to happen. If the government silenced the complainants, or if the government forced Wondery to host the show despite their desire not to, THAT would be in opposition to free speech. Free speech is what gives people the right to speak out.
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews Please point out where I said someone should lose their job from making an offensive joke 12 years ago? I'm correcting misconceptions about free speech & markets. Wondery is a business that chooses who to host and not host. Mike can say what he wants on his own platforms.
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews Alex Jones and Mike Boudet are welcome to say anything they want at any time. Just not on platforms that don't support them. It's a free market - Wondery is not obligated to host S&S the same way NBC is not obligated to give me a daytime talk show. That's how free markets work.
@amahnke@Richin50 Kind of sad when people simply "hear" that something is the case and make decisions based on the claim without investigating the truth....
@mikehh9@amahnke@GeekNews You are getting things backwards. Free speech is protection from governmental interference. Free speech is what allows people to protest and boycott material they find offensive. Free speech is NOT freedom from the consequences of your behavior.
