If we assume my entire trading portfolio is 100$ and i risk 1.5% then that's 1.5$ on one single trade.

If i open a position now with Risk to Reward of 1:10 than i can make 15$ with my 1.5$, if everything plays out like planned. With take profits etc. its will be different most of the time.

On my entire portfolio that's a 15% increase best case and thats is a very nice return on one single trade. You only get this kind of setups if you have either very good TA skills or you are willing to reduce your win rate, because of tighter stops.

The funny thing is if you can manage to have a 20% win rate consistently you will be profitable in the long run from a statistical standpoint. If you have a 40% win rate you are really profitable in the long run, but you have to be willing to loose. My setups all have at least a 5R or i don't take them, because my TA skills are still under construction. Thats why want to have the statistical odds on my side and i'm not afraid to loose.

You should study this concept, because without it the odds are even more against you than they are anyways.
