Even though it is prepared throughout southern Italy, the flavorful caponata is a typical Sicilian vegetable dish whose origins date back to the early 18th century. In the original recipe, the most important ingredient was gurnard fish (capone in Italian), but due to its price, gurnard was soon replaced by the widely available and much cheaper eggplant.

Hanami Festival, Japan 🇯🇵
Discover Japan: https://t.co/odqNQsAzhq
Most often referring to cherry blossoms, the Hanami Festival is celebrating the traditional Japanese custom of enjoying flowers. This centuries-old custom involves gathering under blooming cherry blossoms to enjoy the transient beauty of the flowers, symbolizing the fleeting nature of life due to their short blooming period.
It's a deeply embedded cultural event in Japan, marked by various foods and drinks associated with the season. Hanami bento boxes are specially prepared meals for the traditional Japanese cherry blossom viewing festival. A typical Hanami bento box is filled with vibrant and seasonal items like sakura onigiri (cherry blossom-flavored rice balls), various sushi, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), grilled meats or fish, colorful pickles, and spring vegetables, often garnished with edible flowers to reflect the beauty of cherry blossoms.
Hanami is celebrated during the spring, typically from late March to early April, depending on the region and when the trees bloom.

Cola de Mono 🇨🇱 is the best cocktail in the world in 2023. View complete TasteAtlas Awards 23/24 lists: https://t.co/98RF2YMTjp
It is not Christmas in Chile without a glass of Cola de Mono (lit. Monkey’s Tail). There are numerous versions of this beverage, but it typically consists of milk, sugar, coffee, cloves, cinnamon, and aguardiente – distilled spirits containing between 29% and 60% alcohol by volume.
Brandy or rum are among the most common types of alcohol used in Cola de Mono. All ingredients are first boiled, cooled, then combined with aguardiente. The drink can be served hot or cold, and it is traditionally paired with a slice of pan de pascua, a traditional Christmas bread.
