Our paper "Scale invariance and statistical significance in complex weighted networks" is out on PRE: If the distribution of edge weights in your null model depends on the weights' unit, you will be in trouble! @aps_dsnp@filrad@skojaku@moondark https://t.co/5XUOnbNXCm
Randomization of weighted networks is often done through a weighted configuration model, but then the statistical significance is dependent on scale. But randomizing the structure then the weights restores scale invariance, enabling unbiased assessments.

Today we said goodbye to our little boss. Clever, bold, and full of love. 🌈🌉
Hoje nos despedimos do nosso chefinho. Esperto, valente e cheio de amor. 🌈🌉 Rominho, vai em paz, papai te ama pra sempre.
Looks like #MegaMan latest challenge is fighting the real boss battle: body odor! When new games aren't coming out, even the Blue Bomber needs a side gig. @CapcomUSA_
Thank you all so much for attending the Osome tutorial at #ic2s2. 🥹😌😚Had a great time sharing new method to discover the detailed structure of collective narrative. https://t.co/RIWRRTaMUH and great conversations with folks from both Communication and Political Science.🌊🌊🌊
@skojaku In fact I've just found a published full-paper from that author (which I'm not revealing the name for ethical considerations). It was published in an IEEE conference. Clearly AI-generated.
Oh, after receiving many reviews written by ChatGPT while editing for a journal, I've finally received a potential manuscript that was entirely written by ChatGPT (or something similar). It even includes nonsensical plots, code, and S.I. tables.
@skojaku The problem is I've also received several reviews that are very generic (they can be applied to any paper) or seem to have been written by a Gen AI. If the editor doesn't pay attention, an AI-generated paper could be published based on these generic/AI reviews.
Esta semana, a @IUCN publicou nosso relatório sobre o futuro dos óleos vegetais, os quais são muito mais importantes na nossa vida do que nós pensamos.

📢📢 Our new paper points to a crucial limitation of modularity-based methods: they rarely produce an optimal partition or a partition resembling an optimal partition even on networks with modular structures.

Introducing Botometer X! The original Botometer website was disabled after Twitter (now X) suspended researcher access to their data. To fulfill the need for bot detection, we revived and rebranded it. Check it out at https://t.co/6S97qXAvDl

🎲🕸️ Unveiling the Secrets of Networks: A Journey through Partially Known Territories! Discover what lies beneath the sequences we observe.
In our latest paper, we investigate the impact of limited information on recovering network properties. We analyzed sequences obtained from different types of random walk biases.
