@CtrlZalt @Elnegroveneco Seems to be more about your difficulty tolerating a boundary that someone you wanted to have sex with expressed, the realization of which made you feel vulnerable. That’s why you had to run right to Twitter for validation from all your followers.
@JoeCassandra@NiklausFuller Upgrade availability is based on status level. Higher tiers of status (corporate accounts) always get the upgrade first. If you’re flying a route with a lot of biz travelers you can forget your status upgrade.
@MaxRut of persistent rambling that people with schizophrenia and other psychoses, which a lot of homeless suffer from, are hearing in their heads all the time.
@MaxRut Ultimately it doesn't really matter what a random person says and it's within our purview to disregard it/take it in/do whatever with it, but maybe it helps neutralize the comment (if you're upset by it) to consider that these things are verbalizations of or responses to a kind
@MaxRut I'm sorry this happened to you. I've experienced similar while living in NYC for 10 years and for a while it rattled me but at a certain point started to notice that some homeless people say these things to anyone who walks by, including ones who I'm pretty sure aren't gay.
@i3desiderata222 @Blind__Luck @abakermont Their patience with a client like this can be a turning point in the narrative of abandonment. Yes of course therapists are human. But annoyance is just part of the transference. I’d hope a supervisor would point that out.
@i3desiderata222 @Blind__Luck @abakermont Now…sometimes a client perpetuates a pattern with a therapist meant to make the clinician want to term/refer, making themselves just another in a long line of individuals who’ve “given up”
on the client. But a skilled therapist can contain and work with that.
@i3desiderata222 @Blind__Luck @abakermont Therapists don’t get annoyed listening to their clients. Not good therapists anyway. A lot of people who seek therapy have a “victim mentality” and that’s something that needs ongoing work, especially if it’s been used for 40 years as an adaption. Therapists understand this.
@baileylegalguy @abakermont This isn’t how therapy works. The therapist isn’t there to give answers. Their role is to help you arrive at the answer yourself. There’s a saying: we contain the affliction AND the remedy.
@joepohlen I also don’t think it means you “dodged a bullet,” though I get why some people have to tell themselves that to make sense of a situation where they were rejected. She may have done a fantastic job for you. I suspect she’s a real people pleaser, which explains her good interviews
@joepohlen To me it means she couldn’t bear the perceived awkwardness or maybe having to disappoint you, or some guilt on her part knowing, perhaps all along, that another opportunity beckoned. It doesn’t make her a bad person or devoid of integrity.
@BestInterest_JC @bufferoveralls No, it's not unprofessional but your friend there is stirring the pot with an email like this. Maybe he should have brought a cold lunch w/ an icepack and avoid the EE kitchen altogether. For all we know his boss is a slob and doesn't appreciate being called out?
