@EmilyBullen10@beh353 Hi Emily! This is a great article to show others that meat is not the only source of protein. We can get protein in other forms such as beans and Tofu. I love lentil soup with vegetables. It's high in fiber protein and tastes delightful on a cooler day! Great post!
As a future healthcare leader, I can utilize these tools when assisting future patients instead of just prescribing a medication. I can dive deeper into patient-centered care from a more holistic approach see what one is deficient in and values the patient holds. @beh353#beh353
Doing a 24-hour recall of what foods I was consuming was not a challenge for me as I still continue to use apps like MyFitnessPal and lose it, making me more aware of what foods I am feeding my body. I still believe I can eat more nutritious foods to fuel my body. @beh353#beh353
I wanted to highlight what @EmmaDArpinoRD said regarding binge eating... "It's not the food, it is our relationship with food that makes it feel addicting." We need to be aware of how words are used. @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you for your lecture this week. I admired that you acknowledge that healthcare is an interdisciplinary practice in which you learn from as well as advise/educate others in your specific studies of nutrition, EDs, and malnourished populations. @beh353#beh353

@KipeSeleni@beh353 I feel like this is very common for their partners to bully them because they feel they are close enough to that person to do so. It can really hurt an individual's confidence coming from healthcare professionals as well as their loves ones. @beh353#beh353
@paige_fairbanks@beh353 Hi Paige, thanks for providing such an insightful article that shows the importance that pregnant women meeting their nutritional needs as they are also eating for not only themselves, but their baby as well. @beh353#beh353
Working at a nursing home, I interact with many older adults and pay close attention what they eat. This article offers simple nutritional tips to help an elder family member with Alzheimer. @beh353#beh353

@Radhika0823@beh353 The article mentions similar circumstances in which people who were overweight were associated with negative words by Doctors like "noncompliant" and "weak willed". This is also saddening because like you mentioned we are supposed to be there to help people. @beh353#beh353
This article questions the attitudes of doctors while working with obese patients and how they are treated differently than people of normal weight. This aligns with our studies of obesity and ultra-processed foods. @beh353#beh353

In a system neither train/encourage doctors to engage with their higher-weight patients, fall back on recommending diets that are not sustainable. As a future healthcare worker, I will provide a support plan specific to ones needs/values.@beh353#beh353 https://t.co/lxk4nXmkSw
@minhtrann5@beh353 I agree. People who are overweight generally get labeled as "lazy" yet, there are many underlying barriers that lead to someone gaining weight and it could be stress, lack of sleep, or no time to be physically active. @beh353#beh353
YES! This is a major concern as it affects hormones, like leptin and ghrelin, leading to binge-eating. This is a contributing factor to increasing risk of obesity and weight gain for children. @beh353#beh353
!!!!!!! This is probably the biggest thing I’ve seen everyone tweet about this week. 6/10 middle schoolers and 7/10 high schoolers do not get enough sleep. This article gives advice on how to help kids get more/better sleep. @beh353#beh353
The World Health Organization offers a detailed outline bringing awareness to the consequences of being obese. It breaks down individuals are affected by age, socioeconomic class, gender, etc. It's significant and supplies us with responses @beh353#beh353 https://t.co/tth2p9W1nr
