@ErnRetireNow@egr_investor True, there's overlap for sure. To me Coast is still ft work but no longer contributing and just spending what you make. Barista is working just enough to cover expenses. But yeah neither really contribute any more. Barista could also dip into the investments if necessary
@c65957189@SparkingFIRENC I think the "don't make crazy money" is my hang up - that's top 25% for household. Guess you're maybe top 10% for individuals. I'm sure that's relative to where you live but still. You can save a ton likely with that
@trading4stoke@SparkingFIRENC Yeah same, minus the house paid off. Though our mortgage is 2.5% and will be paid off in 8ish years. I've definitely relaxed on spending - but my brain likes to optimize and so it's hard for me to not be maxing every dollar ha. Weird spot.
@egr_investor@ErnRetireNow This what my wife and I plan on. Our family expenses are roughly $60k and we can both work part time to make that. Will downshift from full time in the next couple of years, let our investments ride until the mortgage is paid off and then assess if we want to fully retire or not.
@FivelDaAmerican@follard When you're that close, it actually does make more sense to pay it off. I refied into a 15 at 2.5%. in essence, I'm paying it off "early" and could have invested the difference keeping my 30 year 3.5%. I think my opportunity cost will end up being like $30k which I'm fine with
@microfuckaround@nic_carter Tin foil hats on one side, environmentalists on the other. The rapid advancement of AI. Security and privacy concerns (Flock does suck), and you have a perfect coalescence. Plus they're ugly as fu*k. Easy to hate on.
@pamchenko2@lynk0x One man does not make the case. There are plenty of studies that show UBI brings many out of poverty. Now homeless vs poor is different. Mental illness is usually the cause of homelessness. Doesn't mean others don't deserve an opportunity
@alreadydawn@TheMindScourge Real, shared inflation is not a thing. If you have a mortgage, your housing is essentially a fixed cost. If your income grew more than the cost of things, your personal rate of inflation decreased.
If you walk vs drive, if you buy used vs new, if you cook more than eat out etc
@GaryTszn@RyanDivish Simple: you can have promising talent / potential in the long term but still struggle in the short term. For example, if Shohei had a 10 game stretch where he hit only .200, you would say he's struggling. Yet no one would be confused and wonder if he's still talented.
@ballsohartigan@csteed People are missing the point here. She's very good. But not a superstar as the OG tweet suggests. Draymond, Rodman, etc are very valuable players and a big part of a winning team. They're not superstars.
@theanswer76_@UofBasketball@ShamsCharania Yes, new gms never make poor decisions lol. I'm not saying he's elite but he has the size and athleticism to be net neutral at the very least
