Government will no longer abolish leasehold ownership of homes, leaving many trapped in uncertainty as they wait for watered-down plans

I am taking legal action against Wallace Estates for their failure to fix unsafe buildings. They are letting down leaseholders. Any attempt to evade responsibility is unacceptable. We will use all tools to make them pay what the law says they must. Leaseholders must be protected.
🚨NEW @TheFCA INSURANCE RULES - leasehold buildings. @joedouglas90 whose one bed-flat insurance costs have NOW rocketed to £1,800.
With Commonhold he’d pay no commission with full control and be better off.

We hope we can soon expect updates on plans for a building's insurance risk pooling scheme - due Nov 22 & other "remedies and recommendations" - due Mar 23? @TheFCA
In the meantime, leaseholders' insurance keeps rising.

@Metcalfe_SBET@Lee4NED @BritishInsurers Thank you @Metcalfe_SBET for raising this on behalf of us. The insurance premiums are extortionate and very difficult to afford. But thank you for helping us fight on behalf of @MorelloQuarter
On behalf of Morello Quarter residents, I asked #BuildingSafety Minister what discussions he has had with the Treasury to reduce the extortionate costs of insurance for leaseholders. Very pleased with @Lee4NED’s answer – good to hear he is in discussions with @BritishInsurers
@EOCS_Official @luhc I'm no lawyer, but clause 6.1 is troubling me. We were told alarms and waking watch would be paid for by our developer but now it seems there's no requirement for them to do so 👇
@LBC@NIAbbot@NIAbbot Our experience is this.
Destroyed by rapid fire spread because of missing cavity barriers. Our residents all lost their homes & everything they own.
Leaseholders in low-rise blocks just like ours still have no govt support to fix their buildings.

✉️ @luhc letter to developers asking them to sign the contract to remediate the unsafe buildings they developed.

🗓️ Deadline to sign 👉 13 March 2023

It's more than 5 years since the Grenfell fire!!! And still Leaseholders have no solution. Simply disgraceful. Building Safety is the priority for Leaseholders. The defects are defects regardless of ownership structures. Polluter Pays is the only comprehensive and equitable way.
