@jkenney It is FALSE that parents were not consulted. It was well publicized that a survey for all albertans to have a say in the curriculum. It’s one choice to do that survey.

@idpetition @davideggenAB @albertaNDP @JanisIrwin @Jantafrench 3 are former teachers, 1 holds a teaching certificate but doesn’t have what their experience as a classroom teacher is (their bio doesn’t list a B.Ed, which is required to be a teacher now). Either they haven’t been a classroom teacher, or they were a LONG time ago.

@schill_dawg I would love to see what education would look like if teachers only worked the hours required (prep and marking wouldn’t get done) & didn’t spent their own money resources. @AdrianaLaGrange - perhaps some of your extravagant supplies budget could help a few classrooms out..

@AdrianaLaGrange A MAJOR misstep by the government in the appointments in this panel is the glaring omission of current practicing classroom teachers - people who know the needs of students and the gaps in our current curriculum, but a doctor with no teaching background makes the cut...

@MizzV_4real @SaraJPeden @AdrianaLaGrange @albertateachers Yes - this was my point. Teachers (and the educational professionals who work along side them at schools) know students (as a whole) best because they work with them daily. Parents know their child - but not all children.

@SaraJPeden @AdrianaLaGrange @albertateachers My understanding of a curriculum though is it is the content to be taught. Teaching practices are not outlined in it. What you are outlining sounds like differentiating instruction for learners, but I could be misunderstanding..
