@michal_grecner No, I also hate it. There are probably 10 ways how to contact me on my phone which do not require me to drop whatever I am doing and pay attention to the caller.
Sometimes it's needed, but most of the time, asynchronous communication is clear winner.

1) job market is quite good these days
2) you can use the break to learn new stuff to make yourself even more desirable employee
3) everyone would understand a break after a taxing job, lot of people dream about taking a break...
