A new report exposes Meta's secret project codenamed Cannes.

The tech giant hired hundreds of contractors to pose as minors. These workers attacked rival AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini. They bombarded the systems with tens of thousands of toxic prompts about suicide, drugs, and violence.

The goal was to break the competitors' safety guardrails. Many participants were shocked by the content and feared legal repercussions.

Meta maintained this was just "industry standard safety benchmarking." However experts completely disagree, they slammed the secret use of fake underage accounts as an anti competitive practice.
