@richieblasco@slavoartist Yes, and I still have a "Good client". I've been in this game for 30 years. I speak of the ones jumping on the fad trying to save time and money. Just know AI will get better and better.
@slavoartist I am using it where I can. C4D just added it to their toolset. The problem is clients immediately jump ship unfortunately thinking they can do it themselves with AI. They will get burned I think. The reality is they think "I don't need you anymore" I'll fight as best I can :-)
@slavoartist Wrong. Clients are willing to put up with some of the quality issues since its so much faster and cheaper. And those issues will quickly disappear as it gets better. I've lost 3 clients to it already. Next year I'll be digging ditches
@ianzelbo Looks like the maxed out Ultra can actually compete and maybe beat the 5090! That's awesome. But at 7k, wowzer. Wish I could justify it but will probably be in a different industry in another year thanks to AI
@ianzelbo I'd need real world render comparisons between a new M5 and a 5090/4090. My older Mac studio, while faster to animate on than my PC is sooooo slow compared to my 4090. Like not even usable as a render machine
The render anomalies in #cinema4d and #RedShift are getting out of hand lately. From frame to frame shading can change willy nilly. When rerendering, the bad frames will render normal again and different frames that were ok before will change.
@cgpov Why'd you leave Arnold? I had to stop learning it cause it's hair was soooo slow, although so is Redshift. Really hoping for some upgrades to the hair system at some point!
5 years later, the little cyclist Xander Graham signs with Visma-linked junior team for 2027 season following his good results on road and cyclocross ๐ช
@GSG3D@nickvegas@cgpov Animate on my Mac studio, render on my 4090. Mac seems way snappier for character animating and playback, but can't touch the render speeds of my PC.
@cgpov It has also caused a horrible problem with hair and how it inherits the uvs! I have had to uninstall 2026.3 and go back while they work on the bug. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!
