there's very little incentive to reply to a tweet that is stating the obvious. it's just like "yes, ok." whereas if you say something insane, ppl will jump in and correct you/ start arguments, and you get paid.

not to make too much of it, but it seems bad that conspiracy theories generate a lot more replies (pic 1, 3k replies) while top-rated corrections generate fewer replies (pic 2, 87 replies). twitter pays ppl based on ads served in replies, which creates a perverse incentive
