Great to be at the technical workshop on the harmonisation of population projections of the eight countries of the East African Community in Arusha, Tanzania.
SNBS Director General Sharmarke Farah warmly welcomes officials from the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat to the Offices of Somalia National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS) in Mogadishu. This visit is part of a broader scoping mission that focuses on critical areas such as health, education, demography, gender, and financial statistics in the region.
The EAC, @jumuiya with support from development partners, is implementing the Eastern Africa Regional Statistics Program for Results (EARSPforR), an initiative that aims to bolster statistical capacity of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) across the EAC to produce harmonized and high-quality statistics essential for regional planning, implementation, and monitoring.
The mission will conduct a comprehensive review of the methodologies, dissemination practices and guidelines used by NSOs in producing key statistics.
This collaboration underscores the commitment of the EAC and its partner states to enhancing the quality and reliability of statistics that are vital for informed decision-making and the successful integration of the East African Community. @SharmarkeFarah@abdirahm_omar
