@ByMHarrington Or maybe a GM shouldn't give one out if they're not willing to live with the consequences of it! Don't trade the player if you don't like the options.
@23MAlyssa All fair points.
I don't see any scenario where the Habs give him multiple years. I think he either decides to sign QO or goes to arb and loses. Or if he somehow wins the Habs will walk away and he still doesn't get a multi year deal.
@23MAlyssa He has a qualifying offer he can sign. He's likely getting less than that in arbitration. Where does this create pressure for Mtl to give him more than a one year offer? Sorry, not trying to be combative. I just don't see the logic. His QO expires July 15.
@23MAlyssa@CanadiensEh If that was his concern, why not just sign the qualifying offer? The only possible reason to go to arbitration is because he believes he can get more.
@PascalL3884 I think there's a lot of curiosity in this instance, in some cases, even anger, no idea why, for such an unusual case. Typically these situations, the guy just takes the qualifying offer.
@CanadiensEh Sure, but why would he need arbitration for that? I'm not sure why people would be bothered by him filling. I can't see him getting a raise.
@TeriMadio@mndamico New contract length rule is September.
There was cap issues for Vegas that they had to wait for the new season. Similar to Price's issues in the past.
