In what is rarely seen in politics today, 2 people have shown that all is not lost in terms of loyalty, grace and promises.

The newly sworn in chief minister of Karnataka Shri @DKShivakumar ji has shown unwavering loyalty to his party.

Unlike the cowards who ran away from our Party in 2022, for fear or greed, this man faced the central agencies of the dictatorial union regime, and yet remained in the @INCIndia .
Then after winning the elections, served his state patiently as the DCM and today has been sworn in as Chief Minister today.

His courage, his graceful and patient leadership has to be congratulated.

The same now goes for former CM, Shri @siddaramaiah ji, who served as the CM, with a good support from MLAs and very very gracefully stepped aside to make way for DK ji without any hesitation or dirty politics unlike many of today’s politicians.

There are many who can’t live without power and go to any dirty extent to remain stuck to it. Cowards and greedy politicians, like the ones who ran away from our party in 2022, break trust, break parties, break human decency and limits of shame.

This grace, gratitude, courage and loyalty is rare.
It has shone through the last 15 days of politics in Karnataka and is something for politicians across the board to learn from.

Congratulations to my colleague Shri @DKShivakumar on taking oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, and to all the newly inducted Ministers.

Over the past three years, I have had the deep satisfaction of working sincerely to build Karnataka as a land of peace, prosperity and harmony, and to ensure justice, freedom and security for every citizen.

Through development programmes, including the Guarantee Schemes, and by upholding social justice, we have built a new model of development for Karnataka.

I hope that in the days ahead, the new Chief Minister and all the Ministers will work together to take Karnataka forward on this same path of inclusive progress.

It was nearly a decade ago. DK sir was Karnataka’s Power Minister, and we were on a tour near Ramanagara district. Suddenly, he said he wanted me to see his mulberry farm. DK sir has a deep passion for agriculture and sericulture. He took me to his wonderful farm and walked me through the entire process of silk manufacturing with remarkable depth and mastery.

Today, as we drove from HAL airport to Raj Bhavan for his oath-taking, I noticed his beautiful silk attire and asked if it was from his own farm and factory. He laughed - and had a look that said, “you remember.” 😄

Rarely does politics produce a leader like DK Shivakumar. Rarely does a person pour every waking hour into the pursuit of their calling with such relentless dedication. DK sir means different things to different people, but to me, he is someone I observed for years, learning the nuances of politics and society from him. He always offered a unique insight drawn from vast experience, and each one taught you something substantial. My early years in politics were spent travelling the length and breadth of Karnataka with him, and it was an enormously enriching experience.

His loyalty to the party is legendary. He always says, “I was born a Congressman and I will die a Congressman.” Having closely witnessed the pressure the BJP put on him, sending him to jail and tormenting his family, very few men could have survived it, let alone emerged stronger.

In private moments of tremendous pressure, he would tell us, “My blood is Congress. I will never betray my party. Sonia ji is like my mother, I will never leave Congress, no matter what.” That is the depth of love that he carries, especially for the Gandhi family.

Today, his long-cherished dream of becoming Chief Minister has become reality. Knowing him as I do, I am absolutely certain he will be among the finest CMs my state has ever seen. There is no task he cannot accomplish once his mind is set and with a strong team, he will deliver good governance.

Six years ago, fate and opportunity brought me to Delhi. DK sir had just become KPCC President and would often discuss his plans and strategies for winning the 2023 Karnataka election. When I told him I had been called to Delhi, he asked me to come see him. I went to his house, as always, late at night. He said he was very happy for me, and that from that day forward, “You are not my man. You are my leader’s man”. 😄

DK sir, we are happy to see you as Chief Minister. May Karnataka rise under your leadership, and may we win the 2028 election with the biggest majority yet. Much love.

கடந்த ஆண்டில் தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் 71,313 சாலை விபத்துகள் பதிவாகியுள்ளன. அதில், 18,421 சாலை விபத்து மரணங்கள் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த எண்ணிக்கையை வெகுவாக குறைக்கப் போர்க்கால அடிப்படையில் நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். மேலும், நேர்மையான அரசு மற்றும் வெளிப்படையான நிர்வாகம் என்ற வழியில் நமது மாநிலத்தின் நெடுஞ்சாலைத்துறை திட்டங்கள் இதுவரை காணாத வளர்ச்சியை நோக்க��� முன்னேறும். தமிழ்நாட்டின் சாலைகள், கட்டமைப்புகள் மற்றும் சாலைப் பாதுகாப்பு ஆகியவை உலகத்தர அளவில் முன்னேற்றமடையும்.

It's amusing to see people challenge TVK on crowd mobilization.

Long before becoming a political party, when we were simply functioning as a fan movement and welfare organization, we organized gatherings many times larger than this without a party leader, without a general secretary, and without senior political functionaries on stage.

The difference is simple: we never needed social media campaigns asking people to "gather here." A single WhatsApp message or even a WhatsApp status was often enough to bring together massive crowds of enthusiastic youth.

If there's any doubt, take a moment to learn the history. Those who know the journey understand what OTFC and the Vijay movement represented years before TVK was formed.

With all due respect, comparing one event to TVK's grassroots strength only reveals a lack of understanding of that history. The organizational success we built over the years is one of the foundations behind today's political success.

@RamyaDpalani seem to read a lot, but it's surprising that such a well-known chapter of Tamil Nadu's recent political and social history escaped your attention.

ಬುದ್ಧ, ಬಸವ, ಬಾಬಾ ಸಾಹೇಬರು, ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರೇ ನನ್ನ ಆದರ್ಶ. ನನ್ನ ನಲವತ್ತೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಡಿನ ಅವಕಾಶ ವಂಚಿತ, ಶೋಷಿತ, ಬಡ ಜನರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ದ��ಡಿದ ಸಂತೃಪ್ತಿಯಿದೆ.

ಸಂವಿಧಾನವೇ ನನಗೆ ಧರ್ಮ, ಜನರೇ ನನ್ನ ಪಾಲಿನ ���ೇವರು. ನನ್ನ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಸೀಮಿತ, ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಲ್ಲ.

ನನ್ನ ಜೀವದ ಕೊನೆಯುಸಿರು ಇರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ವಿರೋಧಿ ಕೋಮುವಾದಿ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

This is very important and timely news to hear at this critical juncture.

If this project is dropped, Tamil Nadu, especially Chennai, will be saved from a serious disaster.

Already, many parts of Chennai are becoming increasingly unbearable, raising serious questions about the city’s future liveability.
The State Planning Commission report has also clearly highlighted that large parts of the Sriperumbudur region are witnessing a sharp temperature rise.

Beyond the environmental impact, the Parandur project would have also damaged Tamil Nadu’s decentralised growth model, which has been one of the state’s biggest strengths.

After Bengaluru airport was developed, growth in other parts of Karnataka largely stagnated, with no major activity spreading across the state. A similar pattern can be seen in Hyderabad as well.

Those supporting this disastrous project are indirectly pushing the narrative that Chennai is a “disaster-prone city.” More importantly, such a move risks weakening the idea of balanced, all-round development across Tamil Nadu.

The previous government measured success in MoUs.

From here on it will be measured in factories that run, and livelihoods that follow.

1,097 acres. Most of it, untouched soil. Plots allotted years ago, not a foundation laid. Water designed for 7 MLD, delivering a fraction. Five kilometres of road for a thousand-acre park.

The gap between announcement and execution, visible at every turn.

Trichy has the talent. Trichy has the institutions. Trichy has the officers. What it lacked, for five years, was a government with the will to convert these advantages into outcomes.

I have just begun with Trichy. Every park will be walked. Every cluster will be audited. Every allotment will be followed through.

Tamil Nadu did not vote for ceremonies.
It voted for shifts that begin now.

The age of gimmicks is over.
The age of industry begins.

Attack us if you must, but do not attack the people of TN who voted. Every political party has the right to criticize us, and we will not be provoked by it. But no one should question or disrespect the democratic mandate given by the people of Tamil Nadu.

The people of Tamil Nadu are politically mature and vote with wisdom and clarity.

We consciously chose not to respond to personal criticism against our leaders or our party. If we had wanted to, we could have reminded everyone of the great betrayal of 2014 Lok Sabha elections, after a decade of enjoying key portfolios and power. But we did not.

Knowing well that they have never repeated a government again in TN’s history, we still joined the alliance despite having winning options.
