@sadbathy If we are to think about lahmacun it can actually be called as a turco-levantine dish as the first recipe recorded dates to the 13th century Aleppo. Considering that by that time the region was already under the control of Turkish states, it seems a good conclusion.
@realMardock@merururuu Red cabbage is widely used in Turkiye as an ingredient. Flat breads are also popular. The difference maybe in sauces and ingredients sometimes but would it change the origin of the food? Of course, not. In US they make california roll, does it make sushi an American dish?
@oidonhagouda We Turks have a long way rice cooking. Before washing rice we soak it in water for hours. Then we wash off the starch. We first stir fry the rice. High heat until boiling after that 10-15 minutes of low heat. Lastly we wrap towel around the lid to rest around half an hour.
@cazzoslinger927@SziIlar The first recipe I encounter is by Antonio Latini in the late 17th century. This one is the first recorded one for Italy. People may have experimented use beforehand but again maybe not when it immediately arrived. Do you have any article or recipe that I can check?
@cazzoslinger927@SziIlar No one in the 15th century were eating tomatoes, the experimental dishes started around late 17th century. Tomatoes were either treated with caution or used as ornament due to it is being from the same family as nightshades.
@cazzoslinger927@SziIlar Dude, I am saying that it was brought to the European market around the same time with the Ottoman one. The empire was a trade hub it is impossible for them not to reach goods coming from the new world.
