Some things c0vid left me with:
Screeching tinnitus. A bit of hearing loss. Being super sensitive to sounds. Not being able to use headphones or earplugs anymore because for some reason the tactile sensation in/on my ears just hurts. Not being able to listen to music anymore.
So I've got a pretty mild case of long covid. I can leave the house. I can walk a few kilometres and I can usually take care of my kids. A lot of people I know including family see me and don't see the issues. So I'll explain my experience.
Dezember.

Minimisers:
"If Covid dysregulated the immune system, why aren't we seeing an increase in opportunistic infections, eh?!"
The opportunistic infections:
TB didn’t “dethrone Covid” as the number one killer contagion. Covid unleashed the TB Kraken just like HIV+ tend to die of TB.
Nearly 25% of us have TB in us. It didn’t pick up steam and start spreading more readily. Covid chucked gasoline on the internal TB fire burning within
This is going to be a messy complicated thread...
...but there are several massive hurdles in the paths of most people that prevent them accepting that Covid infections are responsible for the rising flood of ill health including things like heart attacks and mental illness.
🚨GEE, A VIRUS THAT INFECTS IMMUNE CELLS SURE SOUNDS BAD!!
"Both HIV and SARS-CoV-2 have the ability to infect immature red blood cells, causing a drastic imbalance in their level and throwing oxygen levels out of whack - something not observed in other viruses...
🧵
The fact there has been zero effort to make anywhere, not even hospitals or doctors surgeries, safer for higher/high risk people in a new viral landscape of forever covid is such a disgustingly gross abdication of some pretty basic principles of humanity

"We've got to learn to live with Covid" (archaic)
=
"We're just going to keep catching it repeatedly without learning anything"
I reply:
"Learning to live with something involves figuring out how to stop it killing you, not just pretending it doesn't exist."
"I've been witness to three generations of women with chronic illnesses being abandoned by their husbands.
A lot of times they leave. Not right away. They'll stay for about six months after the diagnosis and play the hero...while everyone's still watching, everyone's praising them for being brave and selfless.
And then once the actual work begins, once it becomes unglamorous and hard, they dip out.
And they do it in a way that leaves them feeling blameless, right? They pick fights, they start building resentment, they start manufacturing conflict, they start gaslighting...
Essentially these men will do the things men do if they want out of a relationship but they don't want to feel like the bad guy.
Either that or they kill their wives slowly through neglect.
This is a systemic issue. This is a patriarchy issue."

We hear a lot about the mental toll of having to deal with the reality of living through a pandemic.
We really need to talk more about the mental toll of living through a pandemic that most people are clearly NOT dealing with
This man ran 3 miles the day before but it was ‘masturbation’ that caused him to lose consciousness and a RUPTURED aorta.
COVID is vascular a disease, so that’s fine to catch repeatedly, but masturbation can tear a hole in your heart. Excellent.
