"Nobody would've ever heard of Stephanie White if boys were allowed to compete against her."
@dandakich rips the Fever coach for refusing to say what he believes is obvious: men shouldn't compete in women's sports.
Statement from NCAA President Charlie Baker:
"Without targeted intervention from Congress, college sports cannot set nationwide rules everyone can play by and without Congress, failed professionals will continue to use college sports as a fallback option — robbing the next class of young athletes of college scholarships. It is long past time leaders across college sports call for the immediate passage of the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act — a bill supported by student-athlete leaders, Democrats, Republicans and NCAA schools from all three divisions. Today's rulings and the chaos they bring to college sports are exactly why it's time to pass this bill."
Recruiting 101:
You’re upset about not getting a hit?
But, Coach is impressed with your approach and ability to find barrel!
You’re angry that you rolled over?
But, Coach likes your speed and your hard 90!
You think 1 bad game ruined your future?
But, Coach loves your attitude, your hustle and the way you play!
YOU CAN STILL MAKE A HUGE IMPACT EVEN WITH BAD RESULTS!
A Coach’s perspective is usually way different than yours!

If you don't message coaches telling them that you are interested in their program, you are telling them you aren't interested in their program. Its just that simple.
The death of Saturday morning cartoons was the day childhood officially ended. Streaming gave kids unlimited choices, but it also took away the excitement of waiting all week for your favorite show.
What do elite players do differently?
People often ask me what separates good players from elite players.
It isn't just talent.
Talent may get you noticed, but it won't sustain excellence. Over the years, as a player and a coach, I've found that elite players consistently develop these five habits:
🥎 They stay coachable. Elite players don't think they know it all. They welcome feedback, ask questions, and are always looking for ways to improve.
🥎 They master the fundamentals. They don't chase the flashy plays—they commit to doing the simple things exceptionally well. Under pressure, they trust the fundamentals they've practiced thousands of times.
🥎 They prepare long before game day. Confidence doesn't come from hoping you'll play well. It comes from the work you put in when no one is watching—practice, conditioning, film study, and preparation.
🥎 They control what they can control. They can't control the umpire, the weather, or a bad bounce. But they can control their attitude, effort, focus, and response. That's where champions live.
🥎 They make everyone around them better. True greatness isn't measured only by statistics. Elite players encourage teammates, lead by example, communicate well, and put the success of the team above themselves.
These habits don't just create better athletes—they build stronger leaders, better teammates, and people of character.
Over the next few weeks, we'll take a look at several more characteristics of elite players and what sets them apart.
Because becoming elite isn't about one big moment.
It's about making the right choices every single day.

When i was a kid, my dad used to embarrass me on purpose.
We'd be walking through a mall...
Eating at a restaurant...
Or at a county fair...
And he'd look at me and say,
"Dance."
Right there.
In front of everyone.
As a kid, I thought he was crazy. I would get so mad.
Years later, I finally understood what he was doing.
He wasn't trying to embarrass me.
He was teaching me not to fear embarrassment...
And not worry what others thought of me.
Because the moment you become afraid of what other people think...
You become a prisoner.
You stop taking chances.
You stop expressing yourself.
You stop becoming the person you're capable of being.
I've seen it in my own life.
The times I struggled the most...in baseball and in life...I was usually worried about everyone else's opinion.
My coach... my teammates
The times I performed my best...
I didn't care.
I was free.
Now I see the same thing with some of the players I coach.
They're talented enough.
But they're afraid of looking bad.
They're afraid of failing.
They're afraid of what everyone else might think.
So here's the lesson my dad passed down to me...
And now I'm passing it down to you:
The life you want is usually on the other side of embarrassment.
The next time you have a decision to make, ask yourself:
"Am I choosing this because it's right... or because I'm afraid of what other people will think?"
Choose courage.
It changes everything.
Thank you for reading.

“I had the unique opportunity to see all of her high school games, and I didn't want that to stop.”
UT softball great Sarah Fekete Bailey is stepping away as HC of @alcoa_softball.
With her daughter Halle set to begin her freshman season with the #LadyVols, Bailey told me she wanted to be there to watch the next chapter.
We stopped disciplining children and started diagnosing them.
Now we have a country full of adults who think everything is someone else's fault.
Tell me I’m wrong.
@topflighttourn Can we confirm we are charging kids under 5 years of age a gate fee for Owl City? Heritage Point gate keeper hitting us with $15 for a 4 year old and wanted to be mean about it. Thoughts?
Big games. Big moments. Big nerves.
The goal isn't to eliminate butterflies—it's to teach them to fly in formation.
Before competition, create a routine that settles your mind. Maybe take a few deep breaths, visualize success, focus on what you can control, and spend a moment in prayer. When your thoughts are grounded, your body can perform with confidence.
Remember: you don't have to carry the pressure alone. Trust your preparation. Trust your teammates. Trust God with the outcome.
Play free. Play fearless. Play with purpose.

Grateful-Thankful-Blessed for 4 years of guidance- support & encouragement to my daughter from @KarenWeekly
She doesn’t get enough recognition for continuing to build this program.
She instilled confidence & a mindset to continue to work hard! 🧡 Thank You!
Parents: If your child can't find 30 mins outside team practice to work on their game daily, then they're just interested in success and they're not really committed.
Which is OK.
Just help them find the thing/sport they are interested in and will commit too.
