@adTumbler@cestith @DavidBOstler I don’t aim to speak in a way that honors God. I don’t believe in God. That’s the first amendment in action. You speak of God. That’s fine. You can splash that everywhere. And I can splash pride month everywhere.
@McKenzieDee17 Fermi's Paradox. Look how much we've progressed in just 100 years. From first flight to the moon in just over 60 years. Imagine what a civilization with a 1 million years head start could accomplish. So where are they? Are we the first? Is there a great filter ahead of us?
8 year old walks into my office shaking an empty Febreeze can: "Dad...if you spray too much Febreeze in a room, can you die?" I guess we'll find out son.
@lildurkseyes @AmberPacitti @cjedgin @AdamBroud I have major doubts that Jesus ever claimed to be God. Those were likely words put in his mouth long after he died.
@jlhainy @naomiharasti @smigeonofpigeon You think we wanted to throw away eternity with our families for some coffee or alcohol? Maybe we saw the huge flaws in the teachings in the church and came to the conclusion that God doesn't give a HOOOOOT about what you consider "sin".
@smigeonofpigeon You're absolutely right about one thing. Leaving the LDS church IS a lot like a death. It's life altering and traumatic. Just like posting helped me process my father's passing, so did posting about my leaving the church.
@lildurkseyes @cjedgin @AdamBroud God's all powerful yes? Then why does he need anyone to die for anyone else's "sins"? The entire system and theology is backwards and clearly man made.
