Here is a truth nobody tells you early enough.
The real reason to chase more money is not the cars or the clothes.
It is time.
Money, spent wisely, buys back your hours.
That washing machine gives you back a Saturday morning.
The dishwasher hands you an extra hour with your kids.
A good fridge lets you cook once on Saturday and eat well all week, instead of standing over a pot every single night.
Hiring help for the tasks that drain you is not laziness. It is buying back your one life, piece by piece.
So do not just work to afford things.
Work to afford time.
Time to sleep. Time to rest. Time to be happy. That was always the point.
For my first five years in corporate America I had no promotion.
Then in my next five, I had three.
Same me. Same company. Different results.
What changed? 👇
In 2023, I almost gave up on my PhD.
Not because I lacked passion, but because I was exhausted mentally and emotionally. The only reason I didn’t quit was simple: my ticket money back home wasn’t enough!
When I began my PhD journey in 2022, I was full of energy and determination. I wanted my research to be groundbreaking and change the field. But chasing perfection nearly broke me.
Despite a great start, ethics approved, RF2 passed with no corrections, self-doubt crept in. I questioned my ability, felt the weight of imposter syndrome, and slowly lost confidence in myself.
“What saved me were PEOPLE and the relationships I had built who never gave up on me”
Today, I didn’t just complete my PhD. I earned it with a straight pass, the highest outcome possible. 🥂🎓
To every PhD student or aspiring PhD students reading this: You will feel lost, stuck, or defeated. But remember, you’re not alone. Lean on your community, reach out for help, and take one small step at a time. Your best work will come not from perfection, but from perseverance 💪

Don't listen to them.
You can land multiple jobs and choose.
Here's how I did it (You can do it too)

A LITTLE SPIRITUAL LESSONS
1. Learn to hear God’s voice. Frustration is not far from anyone that does not hear from God. A lot of wrong investment is done when you act on impulse rather than on spiritual guidance.
2. A lot of marital mistakes is made when you marry out of sight rather than on spiritual guidance. Years ago, a man brought a lady to me and I was not even a pastor but by the spirit, I told him it was a wrong choice that he should go and pray about it but he told me I was being superstitious. He made the mistake and it messed up his life. Today, he is a shadow of his former self.
3. When waiting on God for divine instructions, you need to separate yourself. In the UK, as a young brother, I used to go and rent a room in the forest to pray for days for at least 15 years. No one knew apart from my wife. Most of what you see me doing today emanated from there. After a while, I changed my spiritual strategies. There is no accident in greatness. You must pay the price.
4. If I live for another 50 years, I already have a testimony for each day of what the Lord said to me, when he said and where he said it. It gave me unusual speed. We bought our church headquarters in London through God’s voice. No agent and no building committee. I can go on forever with testimonies.
5. My drift this Saturday morning is, to spend more time with God. Put that phone away and seek God’s face. Stop coming on social media to show your frustration. God is expecting you with your hard labour and your challenges. Come to me all that labour…..Take time off work and spend a whole day in his presence. He is more than enough. If you kneel before him a lot, you will stand before men and stand very tall.
Frustration awaits a man or woman who does not spend time with God.

My dad and I used to sleep on a floor mat in Mushin. As the first child, I watched him panic when rent was due. The landlords children dragged him to my face.
When my parents visited London, they stayed in my property.
This is one of the reasons why I will always preach hope. Your present condition is not permanent. Don't doubt what God can do. Hold on! Stay alive! Don't give up!
A time is coming when you will laugh about all the things you worry about today. ❤️🙏
IMMIGRANTS: LET YOUR CHILDREN KNOW YOUR ROOTS
Sometimes, I wake up and weep over the stories I heard and the cases I dealt with the day before. The story of a man or woman who is now old and is abandoned by the children he/she spent their whole life raising.
The children became an adult, got married and moved away from the family house and they never looked back. Some of the children in this generation can be so selfish and unforgiving sometimes over petty family squabbles.
I spent my early years in Nigeria and self-sponsored myself to the UK. I have spent the last 33 years in the UK and counting. I was on the floor. I was on the dunghill. Life was terrible but it is getting better. So I mixed with the poor and the rich. I have been a pastor for close to 21 years and have been a lawyer for longer than that. I feed on people’s private information which they voluntarily share with me. Please hear me out.
I want to appeal as an elderly immigrant in the UK to fellow African immigrants, let, your children know where you come from. Take them to your country of origin. Take them to your old schools. Take them to some rich suburbs. Take them to the ghetto. Let them know that the UK is not the world. Once these children grow up here, they will not remember that they are Africans. Most of them! Their mentality is unusually narrow and rigid.
It is okay now. You are young. Everything is working. You are making money. Your favourite holiday destination is America, Canada, Mainland Europe, Dubai, Turkey and the rest but your home country is a no-go area. You are a careless parent. You will find out as you grow older that you need your country. You need your people. You will be lonely and frustrated.
For example, if you are from Nigeria like me, you will realize that there is no place like home. I can afford to travel anywhere in the world but my experience of Nigeria is unique. I was there five times last year. There is serious hardship there and there is also abundance. Being among your people is different. Positioning makes the difference.
There is suffering in the UK and there is also discrimination based on race and colour. There is also stylish suppression. It takes a strong will to succeed here. I can tell you that from experience. What is making you happy today will soon become burdensome.
Many old people who spent their life and resources raising their children are confined to an old people’s home at the end of their lives. They approach me to write their will but they spend the majority of their time with me talking of their regrets. They said their children did not look back and they think like English people. They also confess that it was their fault because they did not let them know about Africa, did not say anything good about their country of origin and they did not take them home once. What a shame!
Hear me younger people, no matter how rich you are in the UK, have a property in a secure area in your home country that you can take your children to from time to time. Talk to them about your country. I do that with young Africans including my children. They came back to thank me. Don’t get carried away. Things do change.
Whilst reading this, you may embrace it or dismiss it but don’t discard this post. May you remember me with thanksgiving in your heart tomorrow.
