@BBCNews 2day morning I went to school. Everybody was asking about the BBC article. Since it was published I’ve been dealing with stress and anxiety I felt overwhelmed & my teachers asked if I want to leave school & go home rest. We missed school in Afghanistan I don't wanna muss it here

Wonderful to have met a group of young women football players today from the Afghanistan National Team Development Squad, who fled the Taliban and arrived in the UK last November.

The inspirational team visited the Commons after a match with the UK Women’s Parliamentary team.

📷 The Afghanistan development squad played against a women’s team of MPs in London for the kick-off of Amnesty UK’s initiative Football Welcomes at Dulwich Hamlet Football Club on Tuesday.

The squad arrived in the UK last November after fleeing the Taliban takeover.

It was such a humbling experience to play this morning an amazing group of young Afghan football playing women, rescued from the Taliban, organised by @AmnestyUK at @DulwichHamletFC for #footballwelcomes month. We were thrashed but who cares - at least we are allowed to play!

Female footballers who fled Afghanistan last year played against a women’s team of MPs in London as part of an Amnesty International initiative.

The matches kickstarted Amnesty International UK’s Football Welcomes initiative, which is in its fifth year.
