@monisha_rajesh Definitely understand my privilege and position. But the man has Tourette's syndrome, it was not a RACIST slur. The TV show should have edited it out. That was the offence here. For the record, I have been racially abused by a non-white colleague. Not the same, but some empathy.
@WendellPierce Tics in Tourette's do not reflect the views of the person, and are uncontrollable. So it is awful, and dreadfully sad; but it is pretty awful and isolating for this man too, who left the awards of his own volition, presumably to prevent further.
@WendellPierce It isn't a racist slur, in the sense that there was no intention to be racist. I understand that these guys need to be cared for, supported. But the omission of care here is the programming, not the man with Tourette's. It could and should have been removed.
@DocBanks84@WendellPierce I agree with you about the programming. Terrible. But please know it was not hate. It was Tourette's Syndrome.
Tics do not reflect the person or their beliefs. I agree - make sure the actors are ok. Criticise the programming. But not the Tourette's sufferer.
@ActivewearGroup any chance you could ask customer service what their turn around to deal with anything looks like, please?
Order placed 10 days ago; no dispatch notice; no replies. Grrr.
Mad dash at BNS @WestMidRailway! No announcements, just the train manager suddenly chucking us off the train, staff literally shouting at us 'Quick quick'. If @WestMidRailway sorted out their announcements, shouting at customers would not be needed!
